Switching from professional highlights to shop bought hair colour - help!

Hi all. For the last few years I have regularly had my roots done (blonde highlights, with bleach). My hairdresser uses foils. It costs me approx £80 every 12 weeks, and to be honest, I can't justify spending the money at the moment. I am new to the world of semi/permanent hair colour from Boots/Superdrug. Can anyone recommend a good product? I still plan to stay blonde. Thank you.

I have also recently switched from having mine done in the salon to doing it myself at home. I don't have highlights though - I dye my hair darker than it naturally is. However, not sure how much of a difference that makes. I used Loreal Casting Creme Gloss and found it excellent - my hair looks absolutely no different from how they did it in the salon.

I get very good results from : Garnier Nutriesse Chamomile (very pale blonde but not 'pre lightener' (bung all over hair - 45 Mins) £4 a box.

Then for the highlights, if I feel I need some I use Jerome B Blonde (using the strand test measurements so I dont use the whole box) , I don't use a cap or any of that nonsense, I literally just grab very small strands of hair, basically where I think highlights will look good (and I'm afraid to say I don't use a plastic glove for that bit as you always end up grabbing loads of hair, I just rinse my hand every 5/6 strips! ). I am a naturally mousy brown and people always assume I get my hair done at the hairdressers.

Test little sections before you go for it
