Summer Wadrobe, Help Please.

I am hoping you can help me with my summer wadrobe. I have a 7 month old DS and I am hoping to lose weight so I don't have a big budget, strictly high street.

I am just looking for a couple of essential buys to make my wadrobe more summery. My wadrobe contains jeans & t-shirts at the moment. I am;

Size 18/20, 5'3", 36G, pear shaped, brown hair with natural red highlights and fair complexion.

I would be so grateful for someone to point me in the right direction. I have seem to have lost my style (as well as my confindence but trying to get that back ). I have been wondering around shops and trawling the internet not really knowing what it is I am supposed to be looking for!

TIA Grin

I would go for:

A dress in plain but summery colour so that you can change the look with different cardis/layering/accessories and shoes. Even navy would be a good choice as it looks fab teamed with brighter shades of magenta, greens, reds etc.

Some pretty tops (rather than tees) such as this one which has been raved about by ladies with norkage. I have the same top in red and love it because it just looks that bit more dressy and summery than a plain tee but doesn't feel uncomfortable or overdressed, iyswim. Looks great with jeans. As does this linen knit top . I also have this one and layer with a long sleeve tee beneath at the moment to get more wear out of it.

A couple of summer knits: a neutral wear with anything colour and a brighter alternative.

H&M is great for scarves and accessories which won't break the bank. I get bored of my clothes so quickly so I try to ring the changes with cheapy accessories.

Also, try Tesco for summery tops. They always seem to have a good range and good prices too. I have used them during my losing the babyweight phases and still find pieces in there now that I really like - especially their bargainous beachwear and vests. Maybe some empire line camis - will make the most of your boobs and skim over the bits you aren't so keen on. Again, layer up with the cardis. Jeans for cooler days and crops for warmer days. Apologies for another Boden link but these are one of my summer staples. They are very flattering as they are mid-rise (meaning no muffin top) and they don't have pockets on the front so you don't get added bulk.

Not sure what else but hope this helps as a starter :)

oh and those crops aren't as mid-calf awful as they look on the site. That model is ultra-tall :o I am 3" taller than you but short of leg and they sit no more than 2" above my ankle bone.

Hi tulpe, thank you very much for your reply (sorry for the lateness of mine Blush ). These are some great pointers you have giving me, I think I may have to look for some cheaper alternatives than in the links but at least I know what I am looking for.

I love that top you linked to, and I know that style suits me so I don't why I haven't been looking for it! I think it may to do with the lack of confidence, but lost 5lbs this week so that's a step in the right direction.

Thanks again Grin

Well done on the weightloss! That's a fantastic amount to lose in one week.

only plain colours but exact same style as Boden top.

pretty

turquoise option v summery

how about a maxi dress?

would also recommend trying Dorothy Perkins. They have a sale on at the moment too.

Thanks, I felt great stepping on those scales tonight.

Loving the tops they are great. Not sure about the maxi dress though, I'm not really a dress person at the moment, hopefully once I lose more weight I will be. :)

I'm off to buy those tops and have a look at DP. Thanks.
