"Everyday perfume"

Oh Lordy lordy - my MIL, not content with the holy grail, has asked for "an everyday perfume" for her birthday! Leaving aside how difficult it is to buy perfume for somebody else, has anybody any excellent suggestions? I know she likes Evelyn Rose bath products (that rosey stuff from Crabtree and Evelyn that makes me heave) and I think she is quite a floral person really...she's 66, very classic and understated in her tastes...help!

my mum just bought herself Estee Lauder's Sensuous which I thought was really nice and very classic. She is 69 btw

I learn something every day on S and B. First that one needs a bag for each season and second that I should have separate perfume for day an evening.

I would go with either Issey Miyake or Kenzo. Kenzo is one off my fazes and both are classic and flowery.

Don't know.....Estee Lauder Youth Dew might be in her age range.

Whatever you get, get it off the internet......less expensive.

For my MIL's 70th we bought Gucci Flora - it's delicious.

My mum is about the same age as your MIL and is an Estee Lauder devotee - esp. Beautiful, I think

Tommy Girl is delightful and very easy on the purse. Ralph Lauren Romance is lovely too, and agree with the suggestion of Marc Jacobs Daisy. There is a spring edition of that out in a pastel bottle which would make a nice gift.

L'Occitane have some lovely floral perfumes, I tried a peony one yesterday and it was very tempting...
