I usually but Bobbi brown luminous foundation but my current bottle is running low and I am trying to economize. Can anyone recommend any cheaper foundations or s this something not to scrimp on?

I don't reckon its wise to scrimp

I buy cheaper eye shadows massies etc but try and get a decent foundation, the colours are better

I've just bought Maybelline Eraser, and I have the smoother too.
I love them.

Before that I was using No 7 Perfect and Protect which was also good.

I've had good results with Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect (around £9) and lately for the school run have used Natural Collection tinted moisturiser as a base at just £1.99

Revlon Colorstay is rather fab for the price (£11 ish) it's also one of the few ones for pinker skin tones

L'oreal matte morphose foundation is excellent. Better than Mac.

Max Factor ones are pretty good, if you can get the right colour...or Une in Boots.

Moulesfrites · 16/04/2011 18:44

Ok thanks for the suggestions, the bb one s quite moisturizing, so will ave to bear that in mind when trying these out - matte ones I have tried in the past tend to be too dry and don't spread on as easily iyswim....

Same as cybboid, I don't mind scrimping on other make-up items, but foundation is the one that I do splurge on

DramaInPyjamas · 16/04/2011 18:56

Mind you, I have bought some cheapo ones from the Avon before. They were good. Can't remember names though

I love expensive foundations, my favourite is Diorskin Nude.

I tried Bourjois Healthy Mix recently though, and I like it almost as much. It's very good, and a third of the price.

Myface Mymix is quite good too.

Rimmel 25 hr lasting finish is fantastic, and I am usually an Estee Lauder foundation lover. It is very easy to apply (think it has an in-built primer) and gives decent dewy coverage that last really well. Total bargain, highly recommend

sharbie · 16/04/2011 21:14

rimmel always used to be good

suebfg · 16/04/2011 23:27

You can scrimp! Much of the additional cost is in the packaging.

Bought Bourjois Healthy Mix yesterday and it is fab. Reduced from £9.95 to £6.95 at Boots. Gives a great coverage and compares very well with a much more expensive Bobbi Brown foundation that I have.

max factor are fab , all of the products are great value x
