hmm not keen on the buttons, kinda reminds me of pjs

Bunbaker · 16/04/2011 16:25

"i didn't think i could wear stripey tops, but it actually make me look rather slim"

On QI the other night they proved that vertical stripes make you look fatter and horizontal stripes make you look slimmer. See the picture in this article

carriedababi · 16/04/2011 16:42

oh thats interesting bunbaker

ive never actually tried one like that one before, as i just assumed it would make me look like a right fat git, im about size 12 bit have a bit of a baggy saggy tum, and i think that was why i was so suprised to see its very flattering

i think i might get it next time, if they still have it .

its only for knocking around in in the day, nothing fancy

Funny, have just started a thread about striped tops.

I think those images are misleading as I think it's actually the shading on the horizontal picture that makes it look slimmer. Would have been a better test without it.

KarlWrenbury · 16/04/2011 16:48

dont like buttons

dexter73 · 16/04/2011 17:18

I have it, I like it.

dexter73 · 16/04/2011 17:41

Looks lush with my glasses and stripy trousers! No seriously I have so many stripy tops but that is one of my faves. Buy small as it stretches when you wear it.

miche8 · 16/04/2011 17:44

i have it, its washed and tumble dried well, wish i'd got a small size, i think fat face is coming up bigger this season. Its quite a thick material, not like the long sleeved tees i have from there.

dexter73 · 16/04/2011 17:49

I want to put it on now but will wait until tomorrow.

carriedababi · 16/04/2011 19:25

do you think you can wear it with white shorts?

or is it better with denim

dh says it looks liek a sailor outfit

melpomene · 16/04/2011 20:40

Yes, why have they got shading on the horizontal one but not the vertical one in the Mail link? You want the same colours for an unbiased test.

Bunbaker · 17/04/2011 09:23

"Yes, why have they got shading on the horizontal one but not the vertical one in the Mail link? You want the same colours for an unbiased test"

On QI the other night the dresses they showed were exactly the same colours and it was pretty obvious that the horizontal stripes were more slimming.
