Lost almost three stone thanks to WW; very happy to be able to buy some summer clothes But distressed by the look of my upper arms, thighs and bacbside which are very wrinkly like an old lady. :( Anything I can do; exercises? please help!

I had the same prob;em and got the Tracy Anderson video because it said that with the muscle she helps you to build excess skin should cling to it. It seems to have worked. A good moisturizer and loads of water are musts. Also remember that it might take the skin bit of time to catch up any way Smile

foundwanting · 15/04/2011 22:49

It took my skin 6 months to a year to catch up after I lost over 3 stone. Tops of thighs were the worst, but it's all quite firm now.

Keep drinking plenty of water and use a firming cream. Pond's cocoa butter is good (and cheap) if you can stand the smell.

Agree that over time you will gain a little more elasticity and tone to your skin. I had a belly like a deflated balloon post DC weight loss and this stuff from Mama Mio was brilliant at helping my skin regain tone. I bought it as part of the Bootcamp for Tummies pack (it was then called Tummy Toner rather than Skin Tight). I really rate Mama Mio products. They are lovely with no nasties :)

Jonnyfan · 16/04/2011 15:55

Thanks, I was worried that I would stay like this! Will try moisturiser, exercise, water and time :)

That's fantastic....well done you!

Mama Mio's excellent. Anything though where gentle massage is required.

And yes............LOADS of water!

I bought some of those MBT trainers in the sale and swear you can feel it firming the tops of thighs and butt.

Exercise, exercise, exercise - thats the crux of it - diet won't touch sagginess and I firmly believe that creams are a temporary measure, lots of shredding will though!

Collegemum38 · 16/04/2011 23:53

OMG - How weird I was about to post a very similar thread. I have recently lost alot of weight - over 5 stone in total over 20 months but the last 2 1/2 stone has just flown off in the last 6 months since I joined the Gym.

I look hideous with no clothes on. Truely vile. Its so bad that last week I actually considerd putting 2 1/2 stone back on. But no - I still have over a stone to lose and will keep at it.

I have lots of spare skin around my arms, boobs, thighs and tummy - my tummy is the worse. I actually feel uncomfortable carrying this vile flap of just skin, all saggy and wrinkly looking. Sad.

I dont mean to hijack the thread but is there anyone who has had a huge weightloss and got rid of the skin sag? I am 38 and thinking perhaps I am just too old now and this is how I will be forever, god forbid!!

So if I keep drinking the water and excercising Gym and swimming 6 days a week do you think it may eventually improve somewhat? Or as I get slimmer will I just get saggier?

hellymelly · 17/04/2011 00:00

there is a diet method that uses a special treatment to tighten up loose skin,I will link to it if I can remember what its called-I haven't tried it but I remember a thread about it on here.
I think it was called alizone therapy? Or allizone? Something like that-they use a hoover like thing on your skin !!

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 17/04/2011 08:40

I have recently lost over four stone and the thing that has more or less defeated the sagginess is doing a triathlon and exercising 6 days a week! OK, I am not recommending everyone do this, it is fairly extreme but doing varied activities each day such as cycling and swimming, not just running etc should really help. I have totally changed shape, not just weight but muscle definition. The bonus is that I can eat more as well!

suwoo · 17/04/2011 08:46

I'm a Weight Watchers leader and one of my meembers lost 8 stone in 8 months (which, incidentally is considered by WW as too fast, she is the exception and not the norm). She excercised a lot and unbelievably has no excess skin and very toned arms fom the rowing machine. She is now 5 foot 5 and 9 stone. She is 50. Envy

hi
just letting u ladies concerned about saggy skin know that the treatment to treat it is ultrasound theraphy and connective tissue treatment both available at alizonne but quite pricey at £69 pounds each but £120 a week,if both but need to be done weekly to prevent saggines while dieting,
another tratment is acoustic wave theraphy and radio frequency both similar to above, check wid cosmetic clinics,as treatments available with skin genesis aswel
i have been doing research before going on a diet to lose 2 stones as dont want a loose belly,as all my 2 stones seems to b on my belly lol

Mumelie · 18/05/2011 10:46

Oh no, I have lost 10lbs of a hopeful 3 stone loss and already have the dreaded saggy skin on my tummy (apron?). Must start exercising properly to firm it up as the fat goes :-(

QuinnFabray · 18/05/2011 10:58

Exercise does nothing for post weightloss saggy crepey boob sacks though :(

Elsapenny · 16/01/2019 09:28

2 years back I lost 4stone over a period of 8months which I walked 5k each day and went on a vibrating machine. However I was left with saggy wrinkly skin (like an old ladies) on the tops of my arms, legs and bum! I’m as miserable as having the weight back on?! I didn’t even have an ounce of cellulite before.
I read some post on here with some advice but they were several years old.
Is there anybody currently in the same situation and has anything worked for them to change/improve the appearance as it’s making me so sad and miserable.

Elledorado · 16/01/2019 10:43

Quinn my friend swears by flies (is that what you call them?!) ... she no longer needs a bra if she chooses! I am lazy otherwise would be totally sold

princessTiasmum · 16/01/2019 13:47

I lost about a stone and a half in summer, and my skin was so wrinkly even arms, dare not wear anything sleeveless, but have now put about a stone back on, and the difference all over is amazing, but i wasnt very overweight to start with, i dont plan on losing anymore,i prefer a bit of extra weight to being wrinkly

zippyswife · 16/01/2019 20:53

I lost 5.5 stone over 5 months through shredding and watching what I ate. Part of it was pregnancy weight but most of it was just weight. I got pretty scrawny and my boobs were like wrinkly pecsBlush. I have since put on 1.5 stone (on purpose) and look younger and better in general.

joystir59 · 30/08/2019 06:38

I've lost 4 and a half stone over 8 months and am 5'7 and 10st, and feel great and at my natural right weight. But at 61 I now have wrinkly upper arms, thighs and stomach. I am going to live with the wrinkles because I love being this size and shape and feel great.
