Urgent help ladies please, A friend is off to London on the train in 2 hours with her relatively new man for the weekend. They are going to above place to eat and she has no idea what the dress code would be. Any ideas welcome. Also I have just read some dreadful reviews on the internet slating the food and especially the service. Should I warn her or keep quiet? Anyone had experience?

Haven't tried that one though have seen bad reviews.

I would think a pretty/stylish dress/ tunic would be fine, but probably not too obviously 'dressed up', as London restaurant style tends to the laid-back (though not scruffy). Have noticed that out of Londo people tend to look more obviously 'dressed up' at dinner in restaurants.

I bet there will be people ther in jeans - possibly designer jeans but jeans nevertheless.

Same advice. Nothing at all 'formal'.

Thank you for that, it's what I was expecting. I will tell her not to pack the tiara. Apparently his sister who lives in London has recommended it amongst a few other places. May suggest she looks at reviews, would be such a shame to have a rotten evening and I know it would really spoil it for her.

I love Tom's Kitchen - never had bad food or service there. There's no dress code, it's very laid back - jeans or whatever she's wearing in the day will be fine.

I've been - it was great. We had a mix up with starters and so ended up getting a free dish. The actual food was lovely esp the slow cooked lamb.
Not super smart at all.

We went upstairs to the bar to have more drinks after eating.
