Or are they a bit too commonplace these days? Are they really worth the money and what does it say about me if I carry one? I'm just not sure...

They are no longer exclusive to yummy mummies...I have seen OAP's and lots of Japanese tourists sporting them, so I've gone off them a bit.

You have to wear a lot of plain clothes as well, to avoid a clash.

Prunnhilda · 14/04/2011 13:15

I think they are a bit commonplace, they are everywhere.

Prunnhilda · 14/04/2011 13:16

Were they ever a yummy mummy thing? I see them as more aspiring yummy mummy.

LesAnimaux · 14/04/2011 13:20

Aspiring yummy mummy, possibly. All the village school mummies around here had them.

OK the but wehat is the alternative?

I need a big (ish) 'mummy bag' so that I can just carry one bag around instead of handbag & change bag (dd is 19 months)

I say need, want is more like it Grin

I think that looks a bit ugly... I also find satchel types are better to sling over buggy handlebars!

jetmonkey · 14/04/2011 13:41

This is the CK one I like (for hanging over buggy handlebars)

Well I started a thread about these bags earlier today and got very little response (not that I am at all paranoid about being invisible of course Smile). If you are interested there is a code for 15% off today - CKPD.

jetmonkey · 14/04/2011 13:47

Coincidence! I didn't think to search before posting sorry (bit new to this Smile)

Yes to code that's why I was thinking of buying today! I should be house cleaning at this moment really...

No, don't do it.

I use this as my 'kids' carry all bag...comes in leather too in different colours.. Has a second across body strap and the shoulder handles fit neatly over pram. Plus I can get my laptop in it for 'work' days...

big bag

I love it and have loads of nice comments when i'm out..Smile the CK ones are just a bit too samey and uniform for me...

PaisleyLeaf · 14/04/2011 14:02

CK bags are common in the playground here.

NotYourPrincess · 14/04/2011 14:03

I'd find that hard to match with outfits, but glad you get what I mean about buggy-bars :)

I'm loving these but they're a bit pricey cambridge satchels

cyrilsneer · 14/04/2011 14:34

I like the look of this one:

Ooh!

NotYourPrincess · 14/04/2011 16:55

That one's gorgeous! And no one would guess that inside it you were toting around used tissues, half eaten apples, loose raisins and emergency crayons!

madammecholet · 14/04/2011 17:51

love that too cyrilsneer, I like it in grey..Smile

jetmonkey · 14/04/2011 22:22

Ok have decided not to get CK bag (even with 15% off) :) Will keep on looking...

Loving the bright green Cambridge satchel - thanks NotYourPrincess!

Celery · 15/04/2011 08:29

If you want something in that style, have a look at the Lisa Stickley bags instead.

madammecholet · 15/04/2011 16:42
