So not normally something I would buy off ebay, but saw this whilst trawling for kids stuff and bought one. Ex Wallis stock, jersey Navy summer dress (with pockets!).

navy dress

its a nice weight, not thin and clingy, & have teemed tonight with pewter ballerina shoes, oversize brown leopard scarf (LV style).....plus I can slouch with my hands in my pockets..Grin

Bargainous imo..

I have 2 of these, also off Ebay - navy and purple. How come there are so many of these on Ebay?

davidtennantsmistress · 13/04/2011 19:38

oooh I like it I like it, do we think a growing bump would suit under it with leggings?

Feenie · 13/04/2011 19:39

Well, they suit me with my 5 year old post natal belly, which amounts to much the same thing appearance wise, so yes. Grin

BeaMoaning · 13/04/2011 19:40

Do look you think it would be ok on a short arse like me 5ft2 with huge boobs?

Feenie · 13/04/2011 19:43

Not sure - do tunics look good on you generally? I am a bit taller at 5' 6". I have big norks too though, and am a 14. Am very pleased with them, they look flattering and I've had lots of compliments wearing them with leggings/ballerinas.

madammecholet · 13/04/2011 19:44

Yes yes and yes!

feenie is the purple dark or bright....?

davidtennantsmistress (LOVE the name btw), yes it would, indeedy.

beamoaning great for boobs...keeps up all in check but on display ifykwim.Grin

Bright - would prefer dark, but the dress is so nice I settled for the violet colour. Still get people saying that one's lovely, too, though.

fab will be ordering some then come the end of the week, (also have HUGE norks!) I assume it's deffo leggings underneath that's needed?

LakeFlyPie · 13/04/2011 20:16

Dress looks lovely.
Am wondering if I could get away with the hip level pockets due to my huge fat arse / saddlebags pear shape.
Usually empire line dresses suit me but depends how they drop / cling.

I never have much success with leggings underneath dresses either, I think because of the pear-ness.
Could this be the one [hopeful]?

Finger hovering over buy it button but not sure, your wise opinions would be much appreciated.

tangerinajolie · 13/04/2011 20:25

I ordered one but it was no good for me unfortunately.

It was really lovely but my one was over 2 inches shorter at the back than the front so looked odd and at nearly 5 foot 10" I was nearly showing my knickers at the back!
Maybe they are faulty stock?

Shame as it was comfy and easy to wear but I only wanted to wear it as a dress (not tunic) and didn't want to spend every 5 seconds pulling it down.

Great if you're shorter than me.

How does the sizing come up? I'm inbetween a 14 and a 16 so which do you think would be better? I really like the dress. Grin

I bought a size 8 of the same style Wallis dress in khaki for £8 on Southend market three months ago. I think it is quite large as I am normally 10. Has washed well but my one is quite a thin summer weight jersey. Its a good, everyday dress and very cheap. I wonder why there are so many around?

Feenie · 13/04/2011 21:17

14 fits comfortably - not tight across anywhere, if that helps.
