What colour and shape cover up for halter neck maxi dress?

I've got a nice maxi dress from Hobbs, but it's a tie halter neck style and I'd like to buy a nice cover up for it. I have two dilemmas. One being the shape and the other being the colour.

Firstly the shape. My dress is quite fitted until it gently flares out to the bottom and I'd like to keep the fitted look as I am hour glass. I'm not sure whether to go for a little fitted cardigan or a shrug. Also, what neckline should I choose to go with the halterneck?

The colour. My dress has many colours in it! The background colour is dark brown and the pattern has many bright colours, including bright pink and bright blue. Would you choose a cover up in the dark brown or one of the brights?

The fabric of my dress is a substantial linen type I think! My budget is about £30.

Thanks for any help you can give. Smile

I'd probably go with one of the brights in terms of colour. Do you have a link? Bit tricky without a pic but here are a couple of suggestions;

the neckline and fit on this would possibly go with halter style

Or how about something neutral crochet

Thanks Clure. I've got one of those little Monsoon ones and don't like the way they wear unfortunetly. I love that neutral one! I'm sticking to strong colours though (CMB).

I've tried to find a link for my dress, but it's not this years.
