Teachers - spring shoes?

I need something I can wear all day at school - so comfy, obv. I am early 30s and want something reasonably fashionable. Ballet flats kill my feet, so preferably something open toed without being too summery, flip flop styleee. I am also very tall, so can't get away with too much of a heel, although could go for a small wedge.

Help!

Birkenstocks win hands down! Nearly all of the teachers at my school wear them in the summer.

snap! I'm watching this thread so I can get some ideas for summer term. I always find autumn/winter so much easier!

A good trawl through Clarks website might throw up some options. I used to wear black platform wedge (low!) sandals with black trousers etc at this in between stage when you leave in morning in drizzle and come home with sunny sky. Platformy sandals meant you were slightly raised from the puddles Smile. Sandals with ankle strap worked best for me...

lowish wedges or ballet flats here

I recently bought a pair of sandals from Ecco and they are the comfiest things I have ever worn. (And they don't look too grannyish...I hope!)
