Best fake tan?

What fake tan do you use?
I'm very pale and need a bit of colour. I'm going to a family wedding in 4 weeks and thought I would get practising with a bit of colour.

my sister is a pro-fake-tanner (done it every day or so for about 10 years!!!!) and she swears by fake bake (she's tried them all)

coco2901 · 11/04/2011 15:41

I think i've tried them all. If you are pale, and new to the art of tanning I'd go for xen tan (dark not the extra dark). Its lovely, has a nice natural colour (no where near as dark as st tropez or fake bake) and actually smells quite nice, it also doesnt come off on sheets. Otherwise, my absolute favourite of all time is Rodial- but its pricey!

anchovies · 11/04/2011 15:51

Agree with xen tan in dark; i am very fair and it goes on perfectly every time and smells nice.

MikeRotch · 11/04/2011 15:51

st moritz from poundland they say

im st t

had a spray fake back once

moragbellingham · 11/04/2011 15:56

I'm going to try my St Moritz tonight and will report back.

I do already have on some L'Oreal Nutri-summer daily gradual tan which I find very natural..

MadreInglese · 11/04/2011 16:00

my beautician laydee swears by one called he-shi (or hi-she) I did pull a Hmm face and asked if it was just for transexuals but apparently not

she is very pale and I saw her a couple of days after she'd done it and it looked lovely and natural, and is apparently tres easy to apply

ENormaSnob · 11/04/2011 16:01

St moritz as good as st tropez IMO

The skin prep and application technique is as important as the brand you use.

MarieFromStMoritz · 11/04/2011 16:05

Another vote for Xen Tan.

I have also heard that Famous Dave is good, but have not used it myself.

Jellyrollgumdrop · 11/04/2011 16:12

Xen Tan & it doesnt really stink like the rest either!!

Hollian · 11/04/2011 16:17

Thanks all, will have a look at Xen Tan.
Intrigued about He Shi.
Have ordered this (an affordable start!): www.he-shi.eu/productdetails.asp?ProdText=He-Shi+Sample+Pack+15ml&ProdID=1460&FilterStr=&Offset=

oooh do report back Hollian

I have always used St Tropez moose after exfoliating and moisturising, I think its fab its not too dark after you do it once but if you want to be darker just do the same the day after and it's gorgeous doesnt have orange tones either and doesnt smell :)

moragbellingham · 12/04/2011 20:43

St Moritz is a nice colour, no different to St Tropez.
The only difference is the delivery system - I use the mist (I know not why!!!!) and it goes everywhere with both, but the St Moritz dribbles out of the can - very messy!

Both smell similar.
