School shoes for 6 yo boy which last - help!!

DS1 is a typical 6yo lad so his shoes get a good pounding - the clarks ones which have been ok for his younger years don't seem to be up to the job now - the seams are parting, the scuff pads at the front are worn through and the soles have worn away.

are startrite any better?

any other shoes out there that will last longer than a few weeks??

The last 2 pairs for the previous 18 months for DS1(6) and DS2(4) have been from Ecco and Hush Puppie - and both have lasted way longer (as far as scuffing and general scruffiness are concerned) than the Clarks and Startrite shoes we have had before. Ecco are great for narrow feet and the Hush Puppies come with different insoles for various width fittings - I'm really pleased with both and will buy from them again, and they've also both worked out less £ than Clarks usually do. HTH.
