Quick, quick, I need a Wedding Dress!

So, I'm finally getting round to getting married! DP has given in and agreed to doing it before this baby comes. So we are now rushing everything through and hoping to get hitched (yay!) at the end of May. Hmmm, will be 36 weeks gone Hmm.

So I need your vaulable and wise assistance. I need a nice dress, but not too weddingy. Because it's not that much a wedding, just a quiet one with us, our lovely helpful vicar, DD, SIL and BIL. We will have the big one with choirs and bells and photos and marquees in a couple of years - I just want to be married. Now.

I was thinking maybe a nice swishy maxi dress, unless you can advise me better. I'm aiming under £100 (well under would be good, especially as I still have to buy the proper one later on). Preferably a light colour, although white is not required, obviously Grin. And if I'm being really cheeky, we will have a few weddings to attend this summer as well. So it would be good if I could get a couple of uses out of it as a guest. Which means it really shouldn't be white!

Please, help me! I can't find anything at all.

not a maxi but could be accessorised for a bride

FebreezeYourJeans · 10/04/2011 22:29

Vintage looking

FebreezeYourJeans · 10/04/2011 22:31

FebreezeYourJeans · 10/04/2011 22:33

very chic but white would rule it out for other weddings

Changebagsandgladrags · 10/04/2011 22:35

There is this at £140 but white

MrsNoggin · 10/04/2011 22:47

Oooh, I'm really liking that topshop one! And the white cocktail one is stunning. Does the white rule still stand? Or could I get away with wearing that to someone else's wedding? It looks like it might almost hide all manner of muffintops sins...

You geniuses, you! Grin

if you could do strapless

FebreezeYourJeans · 10/04/2011 22:51

The white cocktail one is gorgeous, you would have to accessorise it very carefully to get away with it at another wedding.

Changebagsandgladrags · 10/04/2011 22:53

I love the cocktail dress too. You could get the TopShop one for other weddings...

tethersegg · 10/04/2011 22:55

Purple

Blue

MrsNoggin · 10/04/2011 22:55

I think strapless might be a bit risky!

I can't get that topshop one, I think it is last summer. Very sad.

Very much toying with the idea of that white one. I reckon I could get away with it... Or just tie-dye it... Grin

Have been pootling about these sites. What about this?

Weddingy enough? Would do for all the others, anyway.

And that blue ASOS one is pretty lovely too. Very much on my shortlist! Although I might not be tall enough (or thin enough) to pull it off.

I saw a pg lady in this one today- she was 32 weeks, and looked utterly fantastic... depends on the size of your bump, and height/colouring etc

chickchickchicken · 10/04/2011 23:14

like the topshop one

chickchickchicken · 10/04/2011 23:17

sorry, forgot to refresh. i see the topshop one is unavailable

i like the white cocktail dress too but not sure about wearing to other weddings

MrsNoggin · 10/04/2011 23:22

Yeah, I'm really stuck about that white one. Hmmm.

I could always sew some pretty red flowers on or something. Jazz it up with a wide belt under the bosoms. Or maybe not...

Sod it, I could always just buy it for mine!

Anyway, off to bed now, will sleep on it, but do keep 'em coming!

p.s. Thanks ever so much!

This is nice and avoids the white issue...

This is lovely

MrsNoggin · 11/04/2011 20:23

You guys are great. I have decided to be sensible and not go for the white one. SIL is apparently escorting me shopping on Sunday. I don't hold out that much hope for it, but have these few shortlisted ones to back me up!
