Are you asking for yourself?

If you wore with flatties than it would be okay

But I'm not a big maxi fan tbh

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 21:32

yes for me.

at my school you would get funny looks. bit posh for round 'yer.

Sanesometimes1 · 10/04/2011 21:34

sorry, but yes bit too ott for school run, lovely dress though for lunch out, holiday evening etc.

FaffTastic · 10/04/2011 21:36

Have seen it in real life and it is quite dressy. You could dress it down with a cropped denim jacket and flatties but it is more like something I'd wear to a BBQ/ beer garden/ holiday rather than the school run. Is a very nice dress though.

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 21:47

would this shirter version look less ott?

LTEC · 10/04/2011 21:48

carrie you know I have been in love with that dress for, like, ever.

But even for me (never a school run shrinking violet) I would have to say, yes, un po' troppo.

goodegg · 10/04/2011 21:50

I've tried that dress on - the shorter one- it's lovely, but slinky fabric, definitely partywear, wedding or such. No way could either be worn for a school run without lots of Hmm faces.

Pinkflipflop · 10/04/2011 21:55

Why do you need a dress for the school run? For who?

Sorry, not meaning to offend at all, but as a teacher I'm a bit Hmm at these kind of threads!!

A lovely dress, but just a nice dress for whatever, not to stand in the playground to pick up kids!!

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 21:59

i don't need a dress for the school run.
i want a nice dress for the nice weather and the summer time and my holidays

and will happen to be wearing it soemtimes on the school run.

and wondering if it will attract alot of Hmm faces

agree with LTEC. I love that dress too but have seen it IRL and I would say it is far too dressy for school run. Definitely an evening dress or to wear to an event.

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 23:42

i have actually seen it in rl too

i do like to dress up every now and then even if im only going to the park and shops etc

cornsilkily · 10/04/2011 23:46

it's lovely - did you get it?

Bunbaker · 10/04/2011 23:46

"but as a teacher I'm a bit Hmm at these kind of threads!!"

And as a parent I am a bit Hmm about these threads. I don't think about what to wear. If I am going to work I am in my work clothes and if I am at home I am usually in jeans.

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 23:52

i haven't got it yet, but i have been after it for a year!

im going to get it away for my holidays etc.

john lewis have the same dress in, but a bird print one, like that top i showed you the other day

i'll try it on torrow for size then try and get the butterfly one

bollocks, im going to wear it on the school run anyway!
stuff them

with big massive sunnies aswell

carriedababi · 10/04/2011 23:53

As a teacher, surely Pinkflipflop should be asking "For whom?" Smile

FattyAcid · 11/04/2011 03:49

I like the dress. Buy it and wear it, school run and all. It would be ok to wear at my dd's primary although more with flats than heels

CountBapula · 11/04/2011 04:23

My friend had this as her wedding dress!

FritziGreenEyes · 11/04/2011 07:14

That's a lovely dress! Hope you get it anyway and enjoy wearing it!

MikeRotch · 11/04/2011 07:24

I hate maxi dresses.

FebreezeYourJeans · 11/04/2011 07:56

Lovely dress but neckline makes it too OTT for sch run in my opinion.

muminthemiddle · 11/04/2011 09:20

Very nice for holidays, bbqs etc would need a jacket or cardi for the school run but I am very sensitive to the cold!
