Total styleophobe needs help please!

I am going on a holiday to New York and I need to get some basics.

I'm 5ft2, size 12 should lose some weight but can't be arsed so don't nag please

I don't really do make up or dressing up.

I have loads of shoes though so they aren't an issue

I want

a pair of jeans - will have to be petite as I am short but I'd prefer high waisted to contain my mummy tummy

I do have a couple of maxi dresses from last year, and some nice summer stuff but it isn't going to be roasting so I'll need a long sleeved top maybe?

I'd like a cardi or something.

And some casual "stuff"

Oh and I only have a week panic

I'd get decent dark wash jeans, a navy blazer, a few stripy tops to wear under the blazer for daytime and a few blouse type tops for smarter (these will also look nice under the blazer)

Wasn't there a thread on here a week or two ago about them weighing your cases on the way out and they had to be roughly the same on the way back though?
