I am the proud owner of about 10 pairs of espadrils. I even persuaded the DDH to get a pair for slobbing abut in, but while I look funky in my versions in shades of pink, blue and purple with flowers on (well I think I do Smile, he does look a bit Andrew Ridgley-esque now you come to mention it...

NorbertDentressangle · 09/04/2011 14:19

I used to wear them in the 80s so will not be re-visiting (don't they say "if you're old enough to remember the fashion first time round....").

If you were ever unlucky enough to get them wet though they reeked!

I broke my coccyx in a pair of espadrilles. In 1986. Fecking rope soles.

HerBeX · 09/04/2011 16:13

Oh good I loved espadrilles

And I always thought Andrew Ridgely was better looking than George Michael anyway

ReshapeWhileDamp · 09/04/2011 16:22

Egyptian/Italian dad, apparently. Def more attractive than George.

missmartha · 09/04/2011 17:25

Oh good, I have several pairs I bought on hols a few years back and have never worn. Still got the laccy bands around them.

Hurrah.
