SPF foundation & moisturiser

So the sun's out. In a few days or weeks I'll have enough natural glow i.e. freckles to be able to ditch the fish-pallor-covering foundation & wear only suncream.

Foundation I'm using says it has SPF 19 & I'm not sure if that's true. As my pale skin burns like buggery at the first ray of the sun, am slapping on the Factor 30 suncream.

Can foundation really have SPF wotsit? And what about tinted moisturiser? Am considering one for the first time to bridge the fish-pallor & natural-glow stages.

The foundations & moisturisers SAY they have SPF X - but is that true? Am sceptical.

You should wear a 30 all the time according to my skin care lady who scanned my (fair) face and I was horrifed at the sun damamge.

I wear Clinique Oil Free City Block SPF 40 now, adn wont stop

Layer it I reckon, SPF with tint on top

Reckon you're right. Was just surprised to see the foundation (recent discovery) had SPF 19 & can't see how it provides any decent sun protection.

Will keep on with my 30 regardless of what else I wear.
Any recommendations for a tinted moisturiser?

You could use \link{http://www.laroche-posay.co.uk/product-treatments/Anthelios/Anthelios-XL-SPF-50-Tinted-Melt-in-Cream-p762.aspx\La Roche Posay SPF 50 Tinted moisturiser}, (or I think \link{http://www.laroche-posay.co.uk/product-treatments/Anthelios/ANTHELIOS-XL-SPF-50-Extreme-Tinted-Fluid-p807.aspx\this is the version for more combination skins}). I'm using the untinted version atm, and finding it good, but I do like to put my mineral powder on top, so make me a bit more matte.

JackieNo - they have that in the pharmacy here. Prob ??? but I found out this week that by handing over ???????? for nit-killer in the last 2 years, I've got ?50+ on their reward card.
Wasn't sure what to spend it on, no way am I spending it on nit-killer.

I don't blame you - much nicer to spend it on something nice for yourself! Grin

Cybbo's recommendation of the Clinique City Block is good too - though I did find it kind of flaked off a bit if I rubbed my face, but that might just be me.

I layer it on. Mosituriser with spf 25, City Block spf 40, foundation SPF 25.

They don't add up- but every little helps.

I was going to buy that (La Roche Posay) last week - but there were no testers.
I do use the moisturiser and get on well with it so I suppose I just splash the cash then!
