I need the following:

a) cheap!
b) preferably in next as I have an account so can buy before payday Grin
c) need to suit short arse (5' 4")
d) need to suit 'interesting' shape... largish boobage, big thighs and since the second c-section a protruding gut with luverly overhang Confused

I like the look of maxi dresses, but guessing I am too short for them... seeing a couple of jumpsuit thingys but thinking I am completely the wrong shape for them! SO.... what DO I wear?! with this fabulous weather I WANT some nice clothes

Blimey, you want the moon on a stick! TBH if you only want to shop at Next you might as well just trawl the site yourself lazy girl Wink
HOWEVER, since I'm in a similar dilema to you I shall await to see if someone nicer than me comes alon. Grin

Any colour dos or don'ts? Oh and are there any maxi dresses in the petite section?

mummynoseynora · 08/04/2011 21:37

hahahahaha

believe it or not I HAVE been trawling Grin unfortunately everything I like which I think is pretty I think I need to rethink when I remember my current body shape!

I love turqoisey colours - brights are good, but nothing too garish iykwim ?

will link to a couple of things I like but don't suit

I'd say these are a summer essential this year, look great with stripey tops now and vest tops when its hot

Love these tops very flattering over the tummy

Also love this little cardi, such a pretty colour, I'd wear it with the chinos or with rolled up denims

I do think maxi dresses look much better on tall ladies, but I reckon this would look lovely with a pair of wedges or some gladiator sandals

mummynoseynora · 08/04/2011 21:55

love the cardi and top there :)

the dress looks fab but a bit short for my liking Confused prefer below the knee.... and the chinos.... Hmm I think I am a bit behind the times! eeek!

Grin

YY, I like the cardi and top. The dress looks like it might cling round the flab stomach area (2 sections and 5000 jaffa cakes to blame).

mummynoseynora · 08/04/2011 22:01

purenewwool are you me?! Grin what did you think of my selections?!

No, think we're possible different people. Is your husband currently doing a poo? Mine is Grin
I didn't like the first one but I did like the 2nd one. HOWEVER they both looked like cling material plus I have bingo wings so sleeveless isn't an option. Oh and I'm a shortarse too so no maxi dresses I think Grin
I NEED summer tops and don't even know where to start with trousers. Wide leg linen make me look like a rectangle. I'm too short for cropped so WHAT are the other options?!

Gillybobs · 08/04/2011 22:08

I think the dress is below the knee. Agree a pair of spanx may be required but tis such a stylish look!
Chinos are EVERYWHERE this year, they go with everything and are actually much more comfy and flattering than I thought they might be. Try them on, bet you'll love them

Herbie - I have a friend who is a year 6 teacher. Once she was wearing a denim dress with buttons all the way down the front once, sat down to read to her class and the buttons popped open to her waist. I haven't worn a button fronted garment since Smile

mummynoseynora · 08/04/2011 22:15

my husband is at work so he COULD be doing a poo?! Grin bum, was thinking the first dress was the best!

yeah was thinking petit maxi herbie wouldn't have a chance otherwise Grin

I agree on button down dresses! Confused

Has anyone seen those lace back t-shirts IRL? Can't work out if the back is transparent or not?

Meggles76 · 09/04/2011 18:32

Had a recent splurge myself at Next recently and got the following

khaki chinos
Floral dress
camisole
stripe tunic
grey cardigan

mummynoseynora · 09/04/2011 19:03

mills thats a good point - there isn't even a picture of the back online! Better check it out in a shop methinks!
