I am pear shaped, plump and short, can someone please find me a summer skirt that won't make me look like one of those dollies that cover old ladies toilet rolls.

I think slimmish A line

White Stuff have a nice fitted demin one

Plus their sizes are huge so you can feel skinnier

phooey · 08/04/2011 17:10

Yep A-line, shorter is better. Get the fake tan and moisturose your legs and get out there!

cybbo · 08/04/2011 17:11

this is v flattering

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 17:14

My legs need to stay well hidden phooey Grin - I'm too old!

The denim looks nice cyb, are patterns out of the question? (I quite like colourful clothes, but this has probably been my downfall)

at calf length

phooey · 08/04/2011 17:15

Oops cross-post! Ok if you like it Smile

cybbo · 08/04/2011 17:16

No patterns not out of question. I prefer a bold pattern to a ditsy print, personally

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 17:20

Knee length I can handle phooey, but I'd prefer not to delight the general public with any part of my thighs.Grin

Yes bold is what I like, not ditsy - I don't think I can't get away with girlish prints

I would say knee length slimmish A line too. I have the White stuff denim skirt but had to chop a few inches off the bottom to get it to be knee length. Generally their skirts are the right length though I think.

phooey · 08/04/2011 17:28

How about this ?

phooey · 08/04/2011 17:30

Or [[http://www.monsoon.co.uk/everyday-skirts/alina-a-line-linen-skirt/invt/81302864/ this] ?

Lots of lovely skirts in Monsoon atm.

phooey · 08/04/2011 17:30

Doh this

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 17:35

That's really pretty phooey - I like that kind of pattern and that colour. I'll try that on next week when I'm in town.

Have just measured, and 60 cms is just under my kneecap.

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 17:38

That one's nice too phooey, Monsoon definitely looks worth a browse.

pointydog · 08/04/2011 17:44

I tried on that monsoon bird print one. It is all silky and slinky and shows every ripple and flabbery bit. Watch out.

KurriKurri · 08/04/2011 17:46

Oh OK pointydog thanks - it might not be for me then (many flabbery bits here)

I thought if one area was bigger it was better to go for less fabric, so going by this wouldn't a long fitted maxi like this be the best. In black they look really classy with sandals.
