Are white ballet flats a style no-no?

A friend told me that white shoes should be worn by small children and hospital staff only.

However I need shoes to go with this dress for when its not warm enough for flipflops (which will be Never, given that I live up North).

I'm 28 and size 10/12 if that makes a difference.

Its the lemon/white dress not the grey one, BTW

I would go for canvas espadrilles like this rather than ballet flats. A lot comfier, and you can stick em in the wash if they get grubby as well.

A definite no. Why not yellow if you have to match. Or grey? What cardigan/cover up will you wear? Light grey would look nice for both.

I'd go for something like this www.my-wardrobe.com/superga/white-lace-up-plimsolls-by-superga?cm_re=New In | Latest Designer FashionLHN--r1|c3--253743

I don't think ballet pumps would go at all.

Google superga. They're lovely. Your feet need to be smallish though to wear with just a dress. I only wear mine with trousers but have big feet.

I would not buy them in white, no. I would find yellow shoes to match.
