I bowed to the pressure and bought a pair of black Converse. What the hell am I supposed to wear with them?

Anything really.

Obviously jeans and trousers, but also look good with skirts. I'm wearing mine with an A-line denim skirt today!

Really stupid question - what kind of socks do you wear with them if you wear with them a skirt?

Also, where's the best place to buy Converse online. I really want need a pair but keep dithering. I was worrying I couldn't wear them with skirts because I thought they might look weird with bare legs.

Excellent question. Are they going to smell as bad as my trainers used to when I was 14?

I got mine from the next directory. Lovely purple ones but there is a good seller on ebay that I have been told about.

I don't wear them with socks if I'm wearing a skirt.

The other thing I do is stick them in the washing machine every so often which eliminates the stinkyness factor.

I wear tiny trainer socs with mine- they are Calvin Klein got at J Lewis- you can't see them under jeans at all.

M&S do footsie type socks too.

Converse look great with Boot cut jeans

Am wearing mine with tiny trainer socks as I type, I found they rub without. I wear them with cargo trousers, linen crops, slim fit and boot leg jeans. Anything really.

Amazon is a brilliant place for Converse - got some for £14.99 in the sale last year.

Oh, I forgot about trainer socks.

I'm torn between red and navy atm. Navy probably more practical I guess although not sure that colour matching really matters with this kind of shoe?

Just bought a pair of black converse an hour ago. Am wearing them as we speak with boot cut jeans (and I'm bloody ancient too ).

Was torn between them and the white ones, which I may yet purchase.

Are we talking the high-top kind, or the trainer-shoe kind?

I haven't worn Converse since I was 18, and that was before the last war a while ago.

Converse can go in the washing machine. There is no excuse for pongy converse.

You can also fold your socks down, underneath your heel, thus turning ordinary socks into "trainer socks", thus obviating the need to put off wearing them until purchase of converse-specific socks has been made.

Forget the converse Pinkster, these are where it's at, don't mention the price, I'm in denial.

There are too many colours to choose from with Converse, I couldn't cope.
