As we have had more than half an hour of sun this week, I think it is time to purchase nail varnish.
What colours are in this year?
I am still on Chanel Particuliere on my fingernails, as I love it.

Love Chanel Nouvelle Vague -last year - turquoise-y colour. Also love silvery white.

cybbo · 06/04/2011 18:51

LeQueen - I feel your pain on the streaky issues with paler colours. Have you tried going to a salon supplies place?

I am currently sporting a hot pink on my toes :)

Try butter london they have a beautiful colour called yummy mummy, awful name but it never fails to get comments. its formaldahyde and lots of other yuck free but its my little secret so don't tell do many people Grin. cybbo · 06/04/2011 19:24

Lequeen

I find Leighton Denny colours veh good and todally non streaky

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 20:09

I always narrow it domn like this.

Green and blue looks infected.
Gold and bronze look grubby or like a fake tan mistake.
White and silvers similarly look like a fungal infection. sooo...
Has to be pink. Coral ideally, looks lovely with a tan.

ooh one of my favourite topics Pondering my next toenail colour is one of the things I love about spring!

I like pink, and Boots natural collection is great for nice pinks (I don't normally go for their make-up but their nail polish is lovely - and cheap) I have a lovely pale shimmery pink called twinkleberry and a darker one called cherry something.

Also got a gorgeous sparkly dark red from boots no 7 with one of those tokens. It's called "queenie", v nice.

And I am going to look for an orangey bright coral which I think will look nice with my new fly sandals here

sharbie · 06/04/2011 20:20

i alternate between a jade green ,bright orange and purply pink (not each toe)

Northernlurker · 06/04/2011 20:22

Ok I'm starting off with pink.

Ilovebagsandbruuuce · 06/04/2011 20:35

Chanel orange fizz is my current fave. Lovely coral sort of colour. Great for hands and feet, new colour this year I believe. I love it! Need 3 coats ideally, but 2 ok. It's worth it.

cybbo · 06/04/2011 20:41

I promise they wont streak

if you use 2 coats

Hey and if you buy through QVC its cheaper AND you get a 30 day money back guarantee so if not happy, just return

AliSheedy · 06/04/2011 20:43

I just can't give up shades of coral for summer. Have been wearing them for the last 3 years. Went for orangey/pinky shades last summer, but had my first pedi of the year last week and went for a brighter, more reddish coral. Super glossy and summery. Very pleased.

Like the idea of turquoise, too, though.

catinboots · 06/04/2011 20:43

Which brands do you all recommend? I can never get my home-pedicures to stay on.

AliSheedy · 06/04/2011 20:44

I'm not really brand-loyal and don't go for pricey brands.

Revlon, Essie, China Glaze, Barry M all fine for me.

sharbie · 06/04/2011 20:46

i like rimmel

AuntieMaggie · 06/04/2011 20:48

Ooh I was just going to start a thread asking for a recommendation for a new 'bright pink'. Have been using 'pink grapefruit' from NO7 for past couple of years but I think I've used the last of it on my nails tonight :o

It was either bright pink, orange, yellow, lime or blue!

applecrumbleandcream · 06/04/2011 20:50

I've had loads of compliments when wearing Rimmel Coralicious.

cybbo · 06/04/2011 20:50

Yes i've got that, its lovely

your name makes me drool btw

TwoNoisyBoys · 06/04/2011 20:52

I'm wearing a LOVELY bright coral by Sally Hansen called "orange-you-cute", (strange name) but the the best part is it was £1 from Poundworld. Bargain of the year. Have been back and bought two more, as well as many, many other colours Grin

iamabadger · 06/04/2011 20:53

Barry M is v good, the coral shade is great for summery days. Its more of an orange coral than a pink coral.

foundwanting · 06/04/2011 21:02

I wasn't sure whether to click on this thread having just painted my nails.

What a relief to know that coral is still ok.
