I'm in desperate need of an image over haul, I would live to be slightly classier. Does this bag say classy to you?

needmyrootsdone · 06/04/2011 19:23

only good if worn with correct clothes so won't get much use out of it?

MmeLindt · 06/04/2011 19:27

Love MmeCholet's links. Damn you.

:o

You definitely need a summer bag. That one is great, but not summery.

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 19:28

Ok I'm going to really bear my soul here. Here goes, I don't mind looking like a wag! and i did kiss a footballer once I think Coleen is OK. But I guess wannabe wag isn't so cool and maybe not the classy look I was after.

Oh god I need help.

You don't need to part with your greys just go for a bright bag to snaz it up Grin

madammecholet · 06/04/2011 19:33

thank you MmeLindt as we share a similar name we ob share similar great taste..

Neither of grey bags are too wag imo, just the right amount of chic and a bit of glam...Grin

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 19:37

Chic and glam and snazzy was exactly what I was after! Now for the rest of my wardrobe. Good place to start though i guess. Oh actually I have a very nice gold leather moc croc Paul Smith wallet with a huge gold buckle.

Oh dear Im a lost cause aren't I???

Iloveshoes001 · 06/04/2011 19:56

Ooh I love the Peony and Moore bags in Vanilla or screaming pink. Can't get excited about the grey one, but the others are fab!!! Not sure I can justify £200 for a bag mind you.

catinboots · 06/04/2011 20:50

Too Wintery.

Would look nice with a belted trench and boots.

cerealqueen · 06/04/2011 21:24

I think its very funky, yes maybe a bit wintry but buy it now and have it for the autumn, or the evening or an overcast day.

FellatioNelson · 06/04/2011 21:26

It says 'lovely gimmick for this season only, but will clash with most of my outfits unless they are very plain'.

sungirltan · 06/04/2011 21:28

i like it. better with gloves but if you wear lots of black its any season

Dilligaf81 · 06/04/2011 21:34

What about these

colourful

mustard

everyday

a bit more £ but a classic

last one I promise

Dilligaf81 · 06/04/2011 21:36

Sorry didnt say I like the leopard print but do think its a winter bag. ASOS and Matalan have great bags and because they are soo cheap you can have a few for each season

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 21:53

Thank you all for looking. Dilliga thank you fro the lovely links.
I'm getting the impression that keeping it simple is the way to?!

I don't really do seasons, literally or fashiony but I an understand than it might be a but OTT.

OP posts:
Dilligaf81 · 06/04/2011 21:56

I have a few classics but then get a few cheaper in season ones to mix things up.

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 22:00

I'm just not sure I can do the fake leather thing, it looks a bit odd.

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 06/04/2011 22:11

It says "I definitely contain £100 in cash", because no sane person would pay more than nine quid for it.

Dilligaf81 · 06/04/2011 22:12

I agree but ASOS have some reasonable priced real leather bags (my fake mulberry is real leather but fake Mulberru IYSWIM?).
Get a leather classic one then go for non leather for the upto date look. Easily done in summer as cloth and straw etc are plentiful then got for animal print and coated canvas for winter. Also try aldo they have some gorgeous bags.

itISrocketscienceactually · 06/04/2011 22:12

Harsh BOF. Harsh but fair.

ninah · 06/04/2011 22:15

I like satchel bags this season but I suspect you don't
I also like vintage - lovely styles, good leather, great value

ninah · 06/04/2011 22:16

for that price you could get 2 or 3 decent vintage bags and ring the seasonal changes

bristolcities · 06/04/2011 22:17

It's tacky right? I like tacky. ARRGGG must avoid tack. Are you sure it isn't mafiosi wife?

OP posts:
wendihouse22 · 07/04/2011 15:52

No.

bristolcities · 07/04/2011 20:28

Thank you for the advice, please don't give up on me but...I bought it but I am the type if person that buys open toe shoe boots. Sorry every one I've let you all down but worst of all I've let my self down. Sad

OP posts:
catladymanquee · 07/04/2011 20:46

bristolcities you are making me laugh here! Grin

I don't hate the bag (I own a leopard print scarf!!) but I will say this: if you're on a budget and can only have one bag you should avoid haircalf. The hair tends to wear off in patches like an old teddy bear wherever it gets rubbed during the daily grind.

The advice to get a plain-ish tan leather bag is good. I have several bags but always seem to end up carrying that good old tan leather one. (Also I'm lazy and can't be arsed to transfer all my junk from one bag to another.)
