Linen shirt dress

I am thinking of buying a linen shirt dress - this one:www.petiteaffair.co.uk/home/p-637-ink-linen-shirt-dress.aspx and dressing it up with a big turquoise bangle and a ring. I'd wear it with tan wedges.

Its a mail order dress so my question is: how badly do linen dresses crease? Will it look like a rag do you think, and would it be a worthwhile buy? I am not short of summer things, so I don't actually need it. Just wondered whether it would be a good thing to have or not.

Depends if you mind the creased look or not. I love the dress, the big buttons are gorgeous. I would prefer a slightly heavier fabric that would crease less.

Linen usually creases very badly. I used to have more linen clothes when I had a housekeeper who ironed a lot. Now I find it irritating that I have to wash and iron linen clothes after each use or have them dry-cleaned. Not worth the time and effort unless you really like ironing.

These days, I only use linen if I go to "standing only" things - no sitting in car, no sitting at desk. Anything that involves sitting and humidity crumples linen clothes.

However, if you can find linen clothes that have been designed to look crumpled (Comme des Garçons in the 1990s type architectural things). go for it.
