Help, I need shoes that make my feet look dainty!

I have lived most of my adult life in wide legged trousers and have a beloved collection of Converse pumps and Doc Marten and Fly mary-jane type shoes (I haven't worn heels since being pregnant 7 years ago and I am happiest in flats). I even have two pairs of ballet pumps and some Rocket Dog pumps. So I should be well sorted but... I am trying to embrace dresses and leggings as I have lost a bit of weight recently and my size 7 pumped feet look like boats at the end of legs in leggings. It is OK when it is cold like today and I can put my boots on, but I have no idea what to wear on my feet when it is warmer. I don't really like strappy sandals (I haven't got the greatest feet) but definitely need something that make my feet look smaller. Does anyone have this problem, and has anyone found the solution??

Yes, I have feet like that. The 3 basic rules:

  1. Generally, completely flat shapes (ballet flats, loafers, gladiators) are a no-no. Very pointy toe will also lengthen your feet.
  2. Wear some heel (even kitten makes a difference) - it's basic trigonometry that it shortens your feet. Block heel or wedge or any other sturdier heel is easier to wear if you are new to heels.
  3. Avoid white and nude like the plague (they make your feet look bigger). Darker colors will make your feet look smaller.

You might want to try out some of the Swedish Hasbeen lookalikes - they have closed toe options too, Sanita for example in gray and black. I've seen a tan version somewhere too.

Thank you for your reply. So flats are out totally Sad? I really don't like wearing heels any more but might stretch to a kitten...

Wedge heels are good!
