Following on from this thread. I'm having this beauty made at the minute in the amethyst colour with lighter purple cowl and draping. There are no words to express how much I love this dress Grin.

Wedding is in 3 weeks so I need shoes, a bag and jewellery.

My instinct is to go for antique style silver with diamond or pearl earringssomething like these maybe?, a similar style hairclip love this one. Planning to do hair in loose waves and pin it up.

Shoes - I'm thinking silver or grey in this kind of style.

Bag will be decided after everything else!

Any opinions or suggestions oh wise ones Grin? Would any other colour of shoes work?

Love that dress. Am hoping to begin a fashion & design course in September and that non-costume type vintage wear is exactly the style I want to create under my own label.

With amethyst, I would try pewter or even antique (ie very matt) gold. But I think the style of accessories you have chosen are perfect.

I would also perhaps just go for earrings and a bracelet rather than earrings and hairclip. I would be worried the hairclip coupled with the detail of the back of that dress might be a little too bridesmaid-like, iyswim.

Cheers Tulpe Smile

I'm trying to avoid looking bridesmaidy - aiming for classic vintage chic. You'll have offer a mners discount when you get your label up and running? Sounds fab!

I like the idea of the matt gold.

Will keep a-looking.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Smile

Bunny, that dress is just stunning. It literally took my breath away when I opened the link. I've never been 'into' wedding dresses (think that's why I've been putting off marrying DP, amongst other reasons) but that is really special.

From the items you've linked to your taste is immaculate and anything you choose will be perfect Smile. But if I come across anything I promise to do links.

lostlady · 05/04/2011 15:04

I just want to say I love that dress, gorgeous. And the shoes, but am always happy to look at shoes, so will post if see anything. Off to add dress site to favourites and cajole friends into getting married so can find a reason for dressing up

BunnyLebowski · 05/04/2011 21:05

Thank you LastYearsModel!

It's not actually for my own wedding - it's to wear to my brother's wedding and also my cousin's, both of which are imminent Smile

Faints at sheer fabulousness of dress....Envy

BunnyLebowski · 06/04/2011 10:06

It's lovely isn't it woopsi Grin. Can't wait to put it on and swish around in it!

Today I'm leaning more towards gold than silver/grey for the shoes. I don't want to look too staid - want to add a bit of sass to the outfit so bearing that in mind...

...What do we think of

these in the gold (or pewter or silver)? Too sparkly? Is there such a thing as too sparkly? Grin

Or these? Or are they a wee bit old fashioned?

BunnyLebowski · 06/04/2011 12:13

Anyone?! I want to get flexing the plastic this aft - please enable me Grin

lostlady · 06/04/2011 13:31

Fwiw I like the sparkly gold ones. No such thing as too sparkly in my book. i have a similarly coloured pair and have worn them a lot, so a very practical buy too Grin

WhatsWrongWithYou · 06/04/2011 13:42

Gorgeous dress - well done! Reminds me that I had one very similar as a student, which I bought at a vintage shop for a cocktail party (neither of those things ever happens to me now).

With the colour of shoes etc, most people suit one colour metal over another, depending on their skin tone; so if your skin is pinky/blue/cool toned you'll suit silver; if it's yellow/peach/warm toned gold will suit you best.

If it was me I'd avoid ebay as I need to try on about 6 sizes to find the right fit - but maybe that's just me and my weird feet!

Pinkjenny · 06/04/2011 13:45

Bunny - that dress is amazeballs. Truly.

docket · 06/04/2011 13:54

That really is a gorgeous dress. What about the shoes that are on the same page as the dress? One of those hair flowers would be nice too?

BunnyLebowski · 06/04/2011 14:11

Thanks docket. Those shoes are too bridal for me. Don't want anything champagne or ivory.

Cheers PinkJenny Grin

It's a fantastic dress, you will be the belle of the ball!

The dress is gorgeous and shades of purple will look amazing. Have you thought about accessorising with pearls? Not the granny versions but some funky freshwater ones like these? The sivery grey would look nice against the purple. I know for a fact that they have shimmery purple ones because I bought a set before to brighten up a pale grey sweater dress.

NinkyNonker · 08/04/2011 16:51

Oh I adore it. I need an event that doesn't involve babies.

Not helping, sorry.

ellangirl · 08/04/2011 18:10

With your colouring I'd go for pewter/silver shoes. Love this site for accessories earrings and bracelet hair comb. Not all together necessarily!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 08/04/2011 18:16

Bunny - I have those earrings. I bought them for my wedding and never wore them. I had the necklace to match (see pics on profile) and it was a bit too much with both. They are sitting in my wardrobe having never been worn so if you do want them - you're more than welcome to them

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/04/2011 19:24

Bunny that dress is amazing. I can't help you with accessories because I've spent the last hour deciding which dress to wear to my dsis' wedding next year. Grin

We shall need a pic of you looking divine.

BunnyLebowski · 11/04/2011 13:59

Wow Tilly are you serious?!!! Can you pm me to sort a figure etc? Grin

I've gone for these in the pewter. They arrived the other day and are gorgeous - total princess shoes!

I love that you all love my dress so much - I will definitely post pictures!

happypotter · 12/04/2011 19:25

I have nothing at all constructive to add, other than you are going to look absolutely stunning. I opened the link to your dress and had a real 'wow' moment. Same for the pewter shoes. Makes me want to get married again!

Gertiegoolash · 13/04/2011 20:54

I have nothing to say either except Shock, that dress is seriously gorgeous!

BunnyLebowski · 14/04/2011 10:08

Cheers happy and Gertie Smile

I've been very naughty and bought this bag to go with. I'm justifying it by halving the price as I've 2 weddings to go to and also by convincing myself it's something to hand down to DD when she's older!
