Bleaching disaster - Help any hairdressers or other hair savvy people out there!

Have just foolishly tried to bleach my already lightened hair platinum blonde (have shortish messily cropped hair) I now have mostly pure white roots, darker roots round the hairline where bleach hasn't `taken' and streaks of gingery orange!! I need to get my partner to buy something to rectify the situation whilst he is out shopping (I cannot leave the house) Any suggestions? I don't want to go green or orange!

If I was you I would not attemp another home "solution", book into the hairdressers tomorrow ! ( don a hat if need to !).

I would go with a lightening but darker shade of ash blond. Does that make any sense? And some heavy duty repairing conditioner.

sounds like the orange parts are where the bleach hasnt been left on long enough to lighten, the white roots have 'taken' the colour more.

Do not attempt to re colour your hair, get yourself to a salon first thing in the morning, or chances are you will end up with horrendous candyfloss hair that is patchy at best.

Okay. I think I have been lucky! Could not wait until tomorrow as need to work and sniggering of work colleagues would have been too much to bear! Went to shops and bought a shade of ash blonde. Almost as soon as I applied it I could see the orangeness fading. Left it for ten minutes less than the recommended time and have been left with ashy blonde hair (I have looked closely under different lights and cannot discern any green!) Phew! I have learnt lesson. (I will never be Gwen Stefanni) too old and ugly anyway!!
