Got dispatch email but not shown up yet.

cabbageroses · 01/04/2011 20:37

Yes! the Broderie dress. going back.

Funny fit. Got a 10. Bust was fine but baggy at the same time. Material hung away from my chest at the edge of neck line.

I am a bit short- 5 3" and think the bodice is too long IYSWIM- the shoulders could be taken up and then the baggy neckline might disappear.

very stiff material and so hard to get off and on- side zip that is too short. Almsot had to get help to get out of it!

MadameCastafiore · 01/04/2011 20:41

Got 2 striped tunics - already have 2 and they are fab and a pair of lovely mink coloured soft knot wedges to go with a dress that they still have not managed to deliver as is still out of stock.

They were lovely though and gave me express delivery for free when I phoned and said as used a link couldn't change delivery when ordering - DH reckons they just look at your total spend over the year and think mug - she has spent thougsands and will love us more if we don;t charge her £6 for postage!!

cabbageroses · 01/04/2011 20:49

Just to clarify- I got the broderie TRIM dress not the Limited Edition broderie dress.

polyhymnia · 01/04/2011 21:09

Really disappointed with my summer purchases.

Tried the maxi skirt - it's in a horrible slimy polyester-ish fabric, quite unlike the 'soft drapey jersey' they claim. And, even with the turnover waistband (not a good look in itself) turned over hugely, it's still too long - and I'm 5'9''.

Also got 'Jersey Tie Dress' and, whilst the blue Ikat print is OK, blow me if that isn't also in a horrible slippery-feeling polyesterish fabric. Apparently this is what Boden describe as 'lyocell' this season. Shall be steering well clear of their version of that in future. Style very unexciting too.

Both these items on way back, as is the Printed Tunic, which is just 'meh'. Have to admit it didn't look very thrilllng - got it in the ''Mercury Champagne (!?) Spot - but thought it might be an OK basic. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't even meet that standard. In fact, the stripy tunic from the spring collection is better.

A lot of people on here have commented recently how Boden are going downhill and, on this latest evidence, must agree.

Changechangechangeagain · 01/04/2011 21:20

I love the look of some of the limited but it doesn't come in long.

tallulah · 01/04/2011 21:24

I ordered 3 dresses for DD late on Tuesday evening. They arrived yesterday and are lovely. I did take advice from the reviews and ordered age 5-6 for my DD who is only just 4 (and quite short for her age).

HelenofSparta · 01/04/2011 21:35

Cabbageroses: I am 5ft 9" and the broiderie dress didn't really fit all over!
Twas almost too tight to get over head and shoulders, too tight on bust and hips!! I am always a Boden 14L, so v confusing. Pity as the cotton was lovely a thick, just what I wanted if we ever see some sun....
Didnt think I would like beach shirt dress, but best of lot, just again too tight on bust as am 34G!!

Hubby is quite happy for it all to go back considering the three tunics and Rivera dress had arrived last week!

Polyhymnia: I too not sure of material of my terrazzo tunics, am waiting to see how they wash.... Definitely too hot for summer, but ok in this weather. Hence my wish for more cotton/cotton lined dresses....

I've sent six things back. Im so not liking it these days

Meggles76 · 01/04/2011 21:50

oh no Polyhymnia - I am awaiting arrival of the exact same tunic Sad
I have sent so many things back to Boden this year.

Changechangechangeagain · 01/04/2011 22:23

Anyone tried the printed shorts?

polyhymnia · 02/04/2011 00:08

Meggles- perhaps you'll like the 'Printed Tunic' more than I did. At least the jersey was 'normal', unlike the so-called jersey in the maxi skirt and the dress.

Helen - I have the Terrazzo tunics and personally find the material OK - at least it's what you'd expect of a Boden viscose/ elastane mix and similar to that of various other Boden tunics I've had in the past. Sometimes this mixture drapes really well, in fact better than cotton (tho' agree cotton is cooler). The weird thing about the Maxi skirt and the 'Jersey Tie Dress' was that they weren't that sort of jersey but a strange polyesterish one.

Look forward to hearing other people's views too.

Meggles76 · 02/04/2011 09:38

Glad that it is 'normal' jersey - that gives me hope :)

polyhymnia · 02/04/2011 09:47

Well feels pretty normal to me, if thin - but supposed to be summer weight, I guess. Looking at the site, I see it does have lyocell in it, but mixed with cotton, whereas the other two items I ordered were both 100% lyocell.

Rassy · 02/04/2011 15:24

I'm waiting for the printed tunic as well!

Meggles76 · 02/04/2011 18:16

Fingers crossed Rassy we will love love love Grin. What colour did you go for. I am awaiting the grey but may chane for the green if it is too drab for summer.

takingchances · 02/04/2011 22:49

I got the limited edition navy silk painterly top. It's a bit baggy. On the website the model has it tucked into something but it's not long enough to tuck in, if you bent over it would ride up at the back in an unattractive manner. So I'm not sure about it.
Also got the Breton stripe jumper in aqua. The sleeves are gigantic. I was expecting more of a boat neck and also the whole thing is a bit baggy. But because it's thin material, I think baggy is better...also I'll push the sleeves up. I'm keeping it but I hope I grow to like it and it doesn't end up shoved in the back of a drawer...

kittya · 02/04/2011 22:52

I sent that painterly top back straight away. I thought it was a waste of money and old fashioned.

Changechangechangeagain · 03/04/2011 13:11

I got tne riviera top in pale green with spots. It's like the boden bag.

I only laid £8.20 with discount and money offvoucjer. I haven't even taken it out the bag. It looks like a cheap dishcloth. It is seethrough as fabric is so thin.

Not sending it back so ebay.

Rassy · 03/04/2011 20:43

Meggles 76 I have gone for the multi summer berry. Am hoping it will arrive tomorrow. There are two reviews on the website already - one really liking it and the other one sending it back.

Meggles76 · 03/04/2011 22:07

Yes - hoping mine will arrive tomorrow too. will report back Wink

HotchpotchHoney · 04/04/2011 10:26

For me i am only keeping the two twist front jersey tops i ordered. I am on the larger end of Boden sizing and the maxi skirts made me look pregnant.
I am still waiting for my everyday jersey dress and jersey maxi dress to arrive, hoping the material isn;t too clingy as the maxi dress from last year was lovely and nice that the straps were wide enough to wear a bra underneath.

Keeping all of the childrens clothing and have actually ordered a couple more t-shirts for ds2 (9) as the material was lovely. We're at that awkward age with him where a few of the boden appliques are too babyish but he'd still love to wear them, but he wouldn;t wear them for fear that friends would laugh at him for having an applique dinosaur or fish.

The shorts for dd1 are loveyl, the surf print ones, and the lollipop and bird skirts are gorgeous we just need plain t-shirts but will buy those from h&m as much more budget friendly, and wash and dry well.

The romper dress thing for dd2 is gorgeous and might get the other one as well.

At least the patterns are all bright and cheerful for the children, I have brought a couple fo Joules bits for the children but colours much more wishy washy and even GAP has failed so far this year.

Off to check out the new Laura Ashley girls for the last few holiday bits for dd1 and 2

Rassy · 04/04/2011 13:04

Meggles 76 My tunic didn't arrive with the post today. Taps foot impatiently emotion!
