If you were going to have a plain ballgown dyed what colour would you go for?

I can't decide.

Heart says purple but I already have a lot of purple clothes.

Also like turqouise, crimson, emerald green, bright blue and pink.

What would be most practical?

Emerald. I love purple and wear it a lot but I rarely see a purple evening gown that looks right, don't know why

red could be stunning if the style suits it

What colour is it now? That will make a big difference to what's possible. You might also want to consider how it will look if any detail or stitching resists the dye and either stays the colour it is now or changes less than the fabric does.
