I had my hair cut today and without a 'by your leave' she ran a comb over my eyebrows and snipped away! I was so shocked I just let her! Is that normal#??

Are you a gorilla?

upahill · 30/03/2011 15:29

Maybe she should have asked but she probably did you a favour.

sparkle1977 · 30/03/2011 15:29

what ???! Never heard anything like it!

Missingfriendsandsad · 30/03/2011 15:29

:) no! not gorilla! but it doesn't look stupid and actually I quite liked the result.. but that's not the point! - anyway have researched and pal who recommended also had this happen to her - but from another stylist! - Its never happened to me before -perhaps this is their USP??! Shock

how very odd it certainly isn't normal. Were they overly bushy to the point it would have made the haircut look wierd?

upahill · 30/03/2011 15:31

My beauty thearpist will sometimes do this if she has done antoher job and noticed that I have some rather embarrasingly long strays that I haven't seen.

Your hairdresser was probably doing the same.

Missingfriendsandsad · 30/03/2011 15:35

:) shinyshoes - you make it sound like I went for a no1 all over and they were sticking out too much :)

It may not be the OP but it is me atimes!

My beauty thearpist looks at me, shakes her head and sighs 'Oh dear upahill. it's a mess!!'

Love her for it!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 30/03/2011 15:50

I have never had my eyebrows trimmed. Do you have pubic brows?

Havingkittens · 30/03/2011 16:14

It was a bit cheeky to do it without asking. My OH gets asked if he wants his brows trimmed every time he has a hair cut and he says "No thanks, my girlfriend does them". Which I do, as I'm scared they will go straight across and make him look like a schnauser.

I have trimmed female clients' brows before but wouldn't dream of not asking first.

Shhhh · 30/03/2011 16:17

oh my god, this thread is making me lol !!!! PUBIC BROWS now that is funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, to the op... never experienced this but I believe its common with gents cuts, usually at barbers.. my dad loves the fact that he goes t have his hair cut for a fiver a comes out with a brow trim Grin FOC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

marriednotdead · 30/03/2011 16:40

This thread has made me Smile

My eyebrows only get trimmed when they're threaded, I'd be horrified if my hairdresser did it.

My sis gets her legs waxed and the woman always whips off any hairs on her toes- can't bear to see it apparently! Fortunately sis finds it amusing.

upahill · 30/03/2011 18:23

The trouble is you can't always see your own strays.
I've only noticed when I've been in a mirror and trhe sun has been shining behind me. I've had an OMG moment!

Better the hairdresser than walking round with one long hair trying to escape your face!!

Missingfriendsandsad · 30/03/2011 23:14

I do look a bit like a musical theatre type now- a bit over-groomed - if I don't muss them up a bit...

This is funny! Grin

'Pubic brows' Grin

'I'm scared they will go straight across and make him look like a schnauser.' Grin

Blush

And yes, you can see your own strays UpaHill if you practice yoga with a mirror to check even the most oblique angles!

Not that it applies to me because I have had something on my mind and have plucked mine into oblivion

I am not sure what I would do about a random eyebrow trim though.... Vaseline them down next time?

AbsDuCroissant · 31/03/2011 10:48

It's a bit weird that she didn't ask.

I unfortunately need this done occassionally, as I am from a family which is long of eyebrow hair. Mine grow up to an inch and a half in length. They can get a bit tangled in my fringe Blush

wendihouse22 · 31/03/2011 12:09

No. I'd be cross. How'd she know you don't WANT to look like Dennis Healey???
