I think if you give them free reign they will do something...interesting. They aren't just going to give you a trim are they. But I doubt as bad as blue mohican. If you are brave and fancy a change, go for it!

MayorNaze · 30/03/2011 10:16

really?

i have no prob from going, say, a growing-out curly natural coloured bob Wink, to a plum and blonde streaked crop

or would that not be avant garde enough?

(i'm really not fussed, streaked crop was just an example)

I've done this a couple of times and if same (to give trainees experience) then they are likely to ask what you want or be advised from the supervisor what would suit you.

Although, once when I signed up for this it was more like an actual 'model' situation, I was Shock, they had clothes for us too! (there was another girl there) and a beautician for make-up, it took all morning & we were bought lunch. It was more like a demonstration by professionals to trainees and not what I'd expected at all.

So, my advice would be to ask what is the situation, if you're not sure.

oh cool

so worth doing then, we think??

If you are brave enough to go for a crop and change of colour I think you'll be fine! I just meant that they wouldntwant someone who said 'oh you can take an inch off but thats it'. Report back and let us know what they did to you!

twolittlemonkeys · 30/03/2011 10:44

Worth doing I'd say, as long as you're not too particular. I've had some great experiences and one not-so-great but could live with the colour (they did it a lot darker that intended and I looked rather goth-like for a good few weeks until the colour faded). Go for it!

moragbellingham · 30/03/2011 10:44

It may take a long time.
I had a bob done at Vidal Sassoon with colour a long time back and it was 10 hours in total over 2 days!!!

MayorNaze · 30/03/2011 11:27

I went once when I was a poor student and at the point when the hairdresser started discussing asymmetric crop I just walked out. Wouldn't want to repeat that experience Grin
