get fitted by a professional

aloha · 28/10/2005 13:30

Bigger size!

Helsbels · 28/10/2005 13:39

buy one with a wider back (ie more than one/two hooks and eyes) M+ S do a good range of mid price supportive bras that do not cut into your insulation. I speak as an expert (42g)

diva4mgl · 28/10/2005 13:47

no not really big
dds on bottle, im 36D and DD depends on make

If your bra is cutting you in half you are not a 36, I'm afraid. You need to go up a back size and adjust the cup size accordingly. Get measured.

FangAche · 28/10/2005 13:50

Diva - Same problem here (although I'm only a B cup). I assume you are looking for a bra that will minimise the awful 'bra bulge' that us plump ladeeeez get?

Bras with a really narrow fastening round the back make it worse, so try looking for ones that have wider part to go around your ribs.

I am a size 10 and wear a 36EE so I am sure that you need a bigger size
Go to M+S or Debenhams and get measured.
And join us on the lose 10lbs in 2 weeks thread

gigglinggoblin · 28/10/2005 13:52

some very useful info here including how to measure - you might be surprised!

flutterbee · 28/10/2005 13:55

My mum thought she was a 34B for years and years, she then got properly measured and turns out she is a 36D she can't believe the difference that it has made.

Go get measured.

diva4mgl · 28/10/2005 16:02

whats the matter CODD?

I HONESTLY don't think its the size! It you have got flab round there then anything remotely elastic is going to promote the bra bulge.

By the way, I'm a 36B and I'm a size 14/16.

Yeah Cod, whats up????

CountessDracula · 28/10/2005 16:17

all odd

I am 36C and I'm a size 16 - Piffle I don't understand how you can be a 10! Shirts gape for me even in size 16, surely if we are both 36 and t you have bigger norks than me you can't fit into size 10 shirt!

piffle · 28/10/2005 23:07

size 10 slim hips obv not a 10 on top is what i meant, i need a larger shirt or t shirt say..
my cup size is high though my back size is 36 and prob could be 34 if only the ee cups went in 34 which they rarely do...

MrsSpoon · 28/10/2005 23:10

Bravissimo and Figleaves...

dinny · 28/10/2005 23:13

how does it work then? if you have a high number size is your cup size smaller than if you have a low number size (ie. high being 36, low being 32)?

piffle · 28/10/2005 23:19

yes i buy from figleaves but if you buy a 34ee from figleaves it is amler cup than a 36ee and if i were honest and went into an F cup then my life would be over, psychologically speaking see?

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 23:21

Crikey, Piffle - am 34G - my life's over then

dinny · 28/10/2005 23:22

I got measured as 34DD at M&S and 36D at Allders. is that sort of the same then?

dinny · 28/10/2005 23:23

Hunker - you seriously do not look that buxom!

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 23:24

If you wear a back size that's too big, it does that interesting tap you on the bottom of your hairline thing while your boobs swing merrily around your ankles.

If you wear a back size that's too small, it cuts you in half.

If you wear a cup size that's too big, it wrinkles up so you look like you have geriatric boobs.

If you wear a cup size that's too small, you look like you are a four-boobed udder woman.

It's a minefield

I find that I'm not just "one size" - different style bras fit differently.

hunkerpumpkin · 28/10/2005 23:25

LOL Dinny - that's because they're countered by the huge baby in my tummy (midwife described the baby as "a chunky child" yesterday...!).

dinny · 28/10/2005 23:25

what, if too big it rides up?

pmsl at four-boob woman!

dinny · 28/10/2005 23:26

chunky child?! gah!
