'Smart' dress code & 38 weeks pregnant - help!

I'm going to a hens do this weekend where the dress code is smart. It's a high tea. I'm 38 wks pregnant and there's not a lot left in my wardrobe that fits! I've got a fitted knit dress I could wear over tight dark blue jeans with flat knee high boots. Do you think that's too casual wearing jeans and flats? Scared of falling in heels!

I'm sure you will be forgiven, considering how far gone you are. Definately do flats, I can't even consider the idea of heels and I'm only 31 weeks haha.

Could you wear thick tights instead of jeans? That would be smarter IMO. Flats definitely fine though!

Dress might be too indecently short to wear with tights because of it having to go over the bump. And has a tendency to ride up when walking so would feel a bit self conscious with just tights I think.

oooh, good tip Poncey, detract from enormous bumpage by drawing attention to the head. I like it!

After about 32 weeks pg ladies may be allowed to wear pjs and slippers to any event. Tis the law.

Figgyrolls · 29/03/2011 16:45

Just make sure the assets up front are on show (ooh pregnancy boobs) and you will detract with that and your new hair!

caramellokoalalover · 29/03/2011 16:57

Don't tempt me BikeRunSki! I could very well forget that pjs are not normal outdoor attire and go out like that.

Am searching for chunky statement jewellry too that can elevate the jeans to just-below-smart category...

I am extending this rule to 9 weeks for myself, whilst waiting for parcel from Jojomaman to arrive. Even then, I may maintain the extension for 30 weeks or so.
