Seeking tan low-ish wedge or kitten heel for special occasion.

Where have they all gone?

They were everywhere last year, but now they all seem to be nude.

Want a peep-toe or tan shoe - possibly a wedge - fairly classic - not too clompy.

Loads of flats available in tan - but my legs benefit from a bit of a heel but am tall so don't want anything over 5cm or so - can't walk in anything high anyway

Have found these in Next but not overly inspired

These I like but not sure I will be able to wear them enough afterwards and again, main colour is nude not tan. Also, they look a bit uncomfortable for summer.

here

Any other ideas please?

Hi

Not sure of your budget - but these are very nice
L K Bennett

Aworryingtrend · 29/03/2011 12:12

I just bought these which are MUCH nicer on than in the pic- had lots of compliments at the weeklend when wore them with jeans
these

Aworryingtrend · 29/03/2011 12:16

I love the ones in your 2nd link BTW but yes they dont look a) comfy or b) very practical

Stillchuckingit · 29/03/2011 13:34

Thanks for responses

Love the LK Bennett ones Voiceofnoreason- how high do you think they are? Bit of an academic question though because a bit too £££££

I know I'm ancient and fairly conservative of dress but when did shoes get so high? They are either flat as a pancake (which I look dreadful in) or towering high ...

Think your suggestion would look really good on most people Aworryingtrend- I really like them - but alas they wouldn't suit me . Have very, very thin ankles and I look wierd in ankle straps and with straps dividing front of foot. Thanks though!!

Try lk Bennett because they have discounts on at the mo.

They are perfect height. Top shop actually had some nice kitten heels last time I was in there. And when I was in house of fraser last they had loads but not sure about tan... I think it was bertie and the nine west concession. Kurt Geiger had some last year but they seem high again this year.

DilysPrice · 29/03/2011 17:02

You could try Carvela www.kurtgeiger.com/online-shop/women/0/0/carvela/0/0/- (most the ones of the front page are hideous, but if you filter by brown/camel/beige colour there are some better options) a slightly cheaper price range than LK Bennett, House of Fraser seem to have them on special reasonably often, and IME they're pretty comfortable.

These?

These?

These?

Or these?

I was looking at Fly wedges today and happened to notice quite a few tan ones, y'see.

DilysPrice · 29/03/2011 19:07

Where's a good stockists for Fly London? I'm getting quite tempted by their wedges, and want to try some on.

Lastyearsmodel · 29/03/2011 20:05

I need to go and try on too. Not checked Fly's site but I know John Lewis and Schuh have a fair selection. Have heard they come up quite narrow.

Stillchuckingit · 30/03/2011 07:57

Sorry couldn't get back on here last night - fighting for computer access!

Thanks again everyone for replies and links.

I'm narrowing it down - that Javari site looks very promising indeed - I'm liking the Fly selection (although they are not cheap are they?) particularly like the Abigail model.

I'm off on a business trip today and will hopefully have time to try some of these on ...

Thanks again for the tips!

Clarks have a fair few tan wedges in this year - and some of them look really nice and not orthapedic at all. Grin

notyummy · 30/03/2011 08:40

BTW - I have EXACTLY the same problem as you. I like wearing heels, but I am 5 ft 10, so if I wear peoper high ones I stray into 'mannish' territory. Also there is the small fact that I am not used to wearing anything over a 3 inch heel max, so I am a danger walking in proper heels!

Stillchuckingit · 30/03/2011 10:24

Thank you Yummy will look in Clarks too ...!!

(Despite height, I look terrible in flats too, does something horrendous to my knees Grin)

Thanks everybody!
