Recommendation for a spa weekend

Can anyone recommend somewhere relaxing to spend a spa weekend with two girlfriends. We are going at the beginning of July, two nights and want to push the boat out a bit as this will be the first time we have done this since we all had our children (within reason prob up to £500 budget for hotel, meals and spa). We all live in South/ South west but to be honest that is not a restriction.

Somewhere with a lovely spa and potential for nice food and wine in the evening.

this has a very good reputation, I haven't been for several years, but have friends who've been recently and it is apparently still very good.

Their weekend offer seems to be running into July.

Calcot Manor, Barnsley House, Babbington House. All beyond fab and i highly recommend.

Look for deals on the respective websites in terms of room, meals and spa packages.

Yes to Ragdale. Also I hear the Titanic Spa in Huddersfield is amazing, but not been myself (yet!)

Chewton Glen in the New Forest - I used to work as a spa consultant and so have visited a fair few and this one wins hands down.

Pennyhill Park or Babington House.

pennyhill park is amazing - and often has cheap deals - well depending on your definition of cheap -the actual spa is one of best I have ever been to

Pagwatch · 28/03/2011 14:37

Pennyhill is nice but I didn't post it as I think £500 is tight unless you get a deal. Although I often go on my own so perhaps room sharing would pull the price down
The extras really mount up. Just make sure you do your sums and allow £30 for a bottle of wine, £12 for a glass of champagne etc.

The main restaurant is a bit shit tbh . The food is good but the last few times I have been the service has been bloody terrible

Wow I'd go with the advice of the ex-spa consultant!

The Verbena Spa at the Feversham Arms in Helmsley, North Yorks is gorgeous - but a bit of a trek from the South/South West.

The Grove in Hertfordshire is vvvvv nice as is the Stoke Park Club in Bucks.
