I have to find a dress for a wedding when I should have lost a lot of weight this summer.

I am nowhere near the shape of that woman yet and probably still will be much chubbier than that by then but I like this dress or similar but needs long sleeves or something with long sleeves on top. To make things even easier I am trying to keep it on a "budget" . I have no idea if that dress would suit my body shape (overweight but hourglass, aiming to be a size 14 by then, and am 5 foot 7)

What dresses could suit me, keeping in mind it needs to be a long dress with long sleeves?

Does that dress exist?

Why does it have to be long with long sleeves?

Neede to be "covering" because I am Muslim but I would still like something more elegant than what I usually wear Smile

I very much like the dress you linked to, if inly both sleeves were identical.

might be a little low cut depending on how modest you want to be but you could always wear a cami under it if you felt it showed too much

www.johnlewis.com/232071/Style.aspx possibly same issue with neckline but would work very well with a camisole under it (I do this with wrap dresses for work) but the shape would be quite flattering. Might require some high power spanx underneath depending on your weight by then

www.johnlewis.com/183890/Style.aspx could you wear something like this but with a bolero/shrug over it to cover your arms?

gorionine · 26/03/2011 11:44

scotsgirlI really like your first link! Does not matter if low cut as can easily be covered with pasmina/scarf. I will have a look at boleros as well, this is what I had in mind but could not remember the name for OPBlush
