Grey hairs are multiplying - should I move from semi to permanent?

Or should I look into something like lowlights or highlights to blend the grey in?

My hair is dark brown and although there aren't that many greys, they're quite noticeable against the dark hair and there are more than I can pluck out with a tweezer now.

They're mainly around my temples so not noticeable with hair down but very noticeable if I pull my hair back/up.

I'm reluctant to start using permanent dye (worried it might look a bit blocky and dull) but semi doesn't seem to cover the greys properly and it fades fast.

I was wondering if a good colourist could do something clever with lowlights to sort of blend it all in a bit more.

What do you think?

I have a mixture of 3 colours put in my hair, very fine high and low lights. As my hair is fairly fair this works quite well in minimising the grey, but it is quite an expensive solution. Why not try it once and see how you get on?

Thanks Higgle. How often do you have to get it done?

Every third haircut, so colour, haircut, haircut, colour. I'm finding I could do with it a bit more often than that now and I'm thinking of upping it up to a T section after 12 weeks and a full head after another 12 - that would be Colour, cut, T section, cut, full head. More expense though....
