Isabella Oliver 365 sizing

OhCobblers · 24/03/2011 13:11

i recently bought a dress on Brand Alley - 1/2 price in my size - was thrilled.
got it today and it seems huge on me - i like to think i'm a regular 12 but it does seem very baggy.

has anyone else had this problem. i can't believe BA will have any stock left and i'm sure a 10 would probably be on the small side.

what is your experience of their sizing??

TIA

whatever you do don't try to return things to IO - see my other thread - feels like they are running some sort of money laundering business!

chocolateteabag · 25/03/2011 09:35

Pre pg I was a regular 12 and find IO 12 fits well. I have a size 10 dress bought from ebay which I can get into and I'm currently much more a 14.

If it's made of Jersey then the size 10 should be ok - do you have a link to it?

OhCobblers · 25/03/2011 14:04

thanks. can't link as it was on the Brandy Alley Website (returning to them which hopefully should be fine!) and the sale has finished now.

just a bit gutted that the dress didn't fit when i can't really afford their 365 range at full price so thought i was getting a huge bargain!!

it looked pretty awful on to be honest (but possibly because it swamped me) so a good saving at least!!!

Worth keeping an eye on ebay - 365 stuff does crop up there and the maternity wrap dresses & ruched t shirts can be worn non pg ( I'm still wearing mine)

I assume Brand Alley is a range from Isabella Oliver. I contributed on the other thread. Said I had to send a size C wrap dress back and order a B. I am a 12 but it was far too big.

My replacement has been dispatched today, so just over a week. Others on here have been waiting several weeks. Maybe they just drag their feet with refunds.

So to answer your question OP their sizing is very generous.

I'll look up Brand Alley, I love a bargain Smile

OhCobblers · 25/03/2011 20:16

MJ Brand Alley is a "sales" website. not sure quite how they do it but they sell designer stuff at knockdown prices.
its worth registering with them. i've bought many a pair of shoes from them Smile

I will have a look OhCobblers - thankyou.

Oh, and my Isabella Oliver wrap dress in size B fits like a glove. So happy with it Smile

OhCobblers · 27/03/2011 20:01

MJ their sales only last a few days so the Isabella Oliver stuff isn't on there now. However, if you register then on the daily email they send, you can see what forthcoming sales there are on which day.

I asked them if they had the next size down so that i could exchange and they don't hold stock in their warehouse. i'm assuming this means they get their sale stock direct from IO?

I've just registered OhCobblers! Not bothered about finding IA stuff on there, I just love a bargain Grin

OhCobblers · 27/03/2011 20:11

you're in the right place - they have many of those!!! Smile

I only spent £99 on the IO dress because it's my 40th birthday soon. I love shopping but head straight for the sale rail in every shop Grin

SherbetDibDab · 27/03/2011 20:21

Sizing has put my off Isabella Oliver a bit.
I bought a top in my normal size and it was massive and then the next time I tried to order something I got a size smaller, a skirt, and I couldn't get the zip done up, not even nearly.

(And btw, it's not because I've got a fat arse.)

maryjane71 · 27/03/2011 20:36

Grin at Sherbet.

OhCobblers · 28/03/2011 16:06

MJ this one's for you!! IO365 on sale at Cocosa here

Thankyou, I'm already a member Smile. I Ignore their e-mails though - I'll have a look.

chocolateteabag · 29/03/2011 08:05

It's also worth registering for the IO emails as they do have flash sales. There was a 47% off a month ago (was off the maternity stuff but I am still wearing the ruched t-shirts!)

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 29/03/2011 08:22

IO stuff comes up HUGE! However the ruched pregnancy stuff is great quality, am still wearing post-pregnancy.

maryjane71 · 29/03/2011 21:51

I always get emails from IO, and ignore them aswell! Not anymore though, I have my eye on the ruched (sp) dress. It's on the same page in the catalogue as the wrap dress but is a bit more 'me'. Thankyou Smile
