Off to London tomorrow for a 2 day conference, with dinner. What would you wear/take?

Depends on what kind of industry tbh - i.e how formal workwear usually is. Also how mcuh time to get changed for dinner.

Probably suit with great shoes and accessories.

Plus dress I feel great in for the evening....but not a overtly sexy one. Just one I feel confident in.

Education, French and English schools. The weather has thrown me a bit tbh, I knew what to take before the sun came out!

Check the weather forecast - is the venue likely to be airconditioned or will you be feeling warm.

For a similar event one November I took:

smart suit trousers with cardigan to travel and first day
the jacket for the suit, in case it was more formal than I had been expecting
an attractive top for dinner (not a formal dinner) plus a necklace
a dress for the next day which coordinated with the cardigan

All the items were in the red, brown, or burgandy colour family so could go together.

I knew there was a reason why I had made a careful record of my clothes for that event!

Thanks, sounds sensible. French teachers quite casual in my experience so will travel in smart jeans, take trousers and top for dinner plus spare top for Fri. Now, footwear...!
