Work clothes

I work 2 days in the office so I don't want to spend loads of money on work clothes. At the same time I realised that all my work trousers are around 7 years old!!

Any such thing as an expensive looking cheap suit? Or general work clothes ideas would be appreciated.

how dressed up or casual are the others? Could you get away with smart trousers and a variety of nice tops that you can also wear with jeans at home to go out in?

Good idea. I go with wide leg black, brown and navy wool trousers (linen in the summer) and then simple sweaters (god bless Tesco's cheap cashmere) which I can wear with jeans at the weekend.

Good idea, saves space in the wardrobe as well!

What kind of simple sweaters do you go for iloveshoes?

And sowhatshallido, any tops you can suggest, to start me off..

banana republic have lots of nice work clothes which are reasonable.
