I got this one very nice , not sure where it came from ,probs hong king , but I didn't pay any extra and it came quickly.

madammecholet · 23/03/2011 12:18

I bought my first from Hong Kong and its lovely, the second one I bought from sheffield and again it is lovely but has the writing on it.

I did not pay any extra from HK.

woopsidaisy · 23/03/2011 13:00

Oooohhh, these are lovely! My DSIL has an original in purpleEnvy.
Not meaning to put a spanner in the works, but could these be the produce of sweatshops? i wouldn't want to buy if they were.
Does anyone know where I can get something like these from the high street? The all seem to be short, but I want a nice, long, slouchy one?

lilaloves · 23/03/2011 13:11

Woopsidaisy-that had crossed my mindSad,hence the reason I would have have rather bought from uk,but tbh thats probably not any better.

I have just bought one from the Sheffield seller...hope it wasn't made in a sweat shop...

woopsidaisy · 23/03/2011 16:32

Sorry, didn't mean to bring the mood down. It is lovely, but I would be worried that at that price, and as it is a 'knock off',that it could well be from a sweat shop.
Sad

brimfull · 23/03/2011 16:34

I thought 90% of cheap high st suff was from sweat shop anyway, practically unavoidable these days unless you're loaded

withagoat · 23/03/2011 16:40

i still dont like the brown

brimfull · 23/03/2011 16:41

yeh we heard you the first time ;)

woopsidaisy · 23/03/2011 16:44

Yes,you are probably right ggirl.
I do avoid clothes that are very cheap or "too good to be true" for this reason.
Sorry,I'm not getting at anybody for buying it. Would get it myself if I knew it wasn't from a sweat shop for sure.
I was at a party recently, and one mum was organising a night for some of us to buy these beautiful mulberry bags. Clutches mainly. I was reluctant as I felt they were sweat shop. However, turns out they are seconds, just tiny flaws that would not make them suitable for full retail price.
Now,that I can go for!

Mine arrived this morning. Its ok.I wouldnt say its soft,no label so can't say what its made from.It has an almost "crimped" look.

Its very raggy on all four sides, not finished at all,so thread is pulling already.

On the positive side it arrived quickly, its exactly the same colour/pattern as pic and I suppose for £10 its not too bad.

Mine arrived too

Hmm

its not worth £9.99 but is a nice summer weight, I was expecting a more pashmina like texture

it should have been a fiver

whoneedssleepanyway · 26/03/2011 18:23

Mine arrived too.

It definitely isn't 30% silk and 70% wool as was described (i.e. like a pashmina) but to be fair I was sceptical that it would be at 9.99, I think for 9.99 it was pretty good value, looks quite nice with white top, jeans and boots.

DH's aunt has the real one Envy she won some money in vegas and treated herself

LindaLaPlumeDeMaTente · 26/03/2011 20:01

my listing said 100% cotton, which is what it is. I just didnt read it properly!

tulpe · 26/03/2011 23:06

Mine was advertised as 100% cotton. When it arrived I felt it was rather soft for that material and the label stated it was actually a cashmere/wool blend. I bought from the same seller as Madame Cholet.

Mine is also unfinished on all 4 sides - which is also the case with my authentic LV one. Unlike my authentic LV one, it has not "pulled" every time I have worn it and therefore is a much better "every day" choice.

MrsMc82 · 26/03/2011 23:39

Would you mind awfully linking to the seller Tulpe
??

tulpe · 27/03/2011 00:00

this was my ebay purchase My friend also ordered through them and got 100% cotton, so it seems a bit of a lottery as regards materials.

MrsMc82 · 27/03/2011 04:42

Thanks Tulpe got a bit confused with all the links! Have ordered one too :o though also waiting for a purple one to come in stock from the sheffeild seller......

MikeRotch · 27/03/2011 10:30

but its brown shit innit

lilaloves · 27/03/2011 12:39

Thats the same seller I bought mine from.
Its not bad for a tenner, you may be lucky and get one of the better quality ones.
