er depends on how skinny are I think
I would look unspeakable and the words Michelin Man spring to mind...
I like "goblin blue" though

wallopyCOD · 26/10/2005 09:27

dont like long padded ones meslef

sweetheart · 26/10/2005 09:28

Horrible - sorry!

TracyK · 26/10/2005 09:29

nice if you are skinny.

OrribleOliveoil · 26/10/2005 09:33

I am tall and skinny and I need a long coat with a hood for when out and about with the buggy.

Get off the fence sweetheart, say what you think! .

I can't find one anywhere and this is in the catalogue so I could pay in bits.

I saw one in Gap exactly like that (but in black) for £88.

chonky · 26/10/2005 09:34

Why not try a short version - or a gilet? I love my Rab down jacket for the winter, but stylish it isn't (sorry Rab).

OrribleOliveoil · 26/10/2005 09:36

foxy - was it long? They have a mens one but it is thigh length.

foxinsocks · 26/10/2005 09:39

it's definitely long and in the women's section but I think the hood may have had a fur trim (though not sure)

I'll see if I can find a picture

Furball · 26/10/2005 09:40

prefer This one also payable in installments.

edodgy · 26/10/2005 09:47

Well I like the firetrap one and would definately get one if i was skinny but at 35 weeks pregnant im far from that! I'd go for it its practical and funky.

northerner · 26/10/2005 09:49

No I don't like it Olive. Very expensive I think.

foxinsocks · 26/10/2005 09:51

aaah can't find a picture because GAP doesn't have a UK site and the US one is not the same (and none on ebay).

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 26/10/2005 09:55

do you need it to be waterproof?

tiredemma · 26/10/2005 09:57

its ok if you are tall. I made the mistake a couple of years ago of buying one but im only 5'- i looked like a walking sleeping bag.

chonky · 26/10/2005 09:57

I'm tall and I'm still not convinced.

doormat · 26/10/2005 09:58

not for me olive
but if you like it, go for it

LadyTophamHatt · 26/10/2005 10:16

What about this one?

Not quite as puffy but a fraction of the price.

I like them both BTW.

OrribleOliveoil · 26/10/2005 10:21

ooooh, I like that one! Think I may have to order that, thank you.

Thats £££££ saved then.

LadyTophamHatt · 26/10/2005 10:23

Ohhh, I feel all clever now.

I'm off to give myself a pat on the back

northerner · 26/10/2005 10:24

OOh yes that's much better. Greta site that. Have added it to my faves.

florenceuk · 26/10/2005 10:31

Have you tried Lands end? They have a down jacket for £99:

long down coat

I have a Squall coat from there (not down, fleece) with hood and it is warm and waterproof-fish:

squall options

But neither are particularly fashionable I think, just warm!

LadyTophamHatt · 26/10/2005 10:43

I might order one for myslf actually.

Not sure which siz eto get though, I'm a 10/12 normally but in the winter I'll be wearing a lot more under it and the according to the size chart thee sizes aren't that generous.

14/16 would be huge though I think.

I hate it when the sizes do that, wheres the 12/14 size???

OrribleOliveoil · 26/10/2005 10:44

Do you know, I have just been thinking the same thing! I am a 12/14 too, mainly 12 but I am thinking jumpers underneath so maybe the larger one.

Hmmmmm. May order both.
