I have useless hair, please help me!

I need my hair cutting urgently, I haven't had it done sine May last year Blush but in my defence in that time I had a baby and have been rather busy!

I have very straight, fine but not thin, easily tangled hair so it always looks a mess if I don't tie it up.

It stupidly parts in the middle no matter how many hairdressers try to make it do otherwise. It won't curl and I don't want to try and perm it, I don't need to staighten it (and I haven't got the time anyway).

It is currently between shoulder and elbow length at it's longest and shoulder length at it's shortest.

I don't want it to be boy short (because my ears stick out!) but I want it to look nice without much effort because I don't have time!

My current hair care routine is basically wash it, let it dry on it's own - I don't even know where my hair dryer is! Brush it then plait it for bed and ponytail for day (to stop baby fingers grabbing it!). I feel like a frumpy mummy!

Does anyone have any ideas for a style that would work for me? I'm 21 by the way, if it helps.

Think your hair is just crying out for a bob ! google bob styles - there are loads of different ones, so easy to manage everyday and always stylish - if you do ever get the chance to go out ( for the evening) then you can always jazz it up with matt fizers, hairspray etc to get a glam evening look, have you also thought about the colour ? change of colour can be amazing - just pop to your hairdresser for advice on what will suit your skin tone. Good luck ! x

You have the same hair as me! It's a bugger isn't it .... Hmm

Would second the bob style. Had mine bobbed a couple of weeks ago - chin length, but in a wedge-shape. Because it's undercut at the back it gives it loads of bounce. I do have to blowdry mine, though, to give it the extra body it desperately needs.

Sanesometimes, what is/are matt fizers??

Sanesometimes1 · 22/03/2011 19:51

Blush meant to say matt fixers not fizers lol - styling clay matt based gum sort of thing, makes layers stand out messy look ( but in a nice way).

thanks for the ideas! I'm a complete novice at using any sort of hair products like matt fixers etc so I'll do my research ;) and I'm now seriously considering a bob...
