another wedding guest asking for help

Hello, please help.
I've a family May wedding to go to, I'm newly single and want to feel in control and confident.

Here's the dress I've bought:www.oasis-stores.com/Sequin-Embellished-Maxi-Dress/Maxi-Dresses/oasis/fcp-product/4470072119.

I know it's a bit dull but I hate to show my cankles, rugby player legs and fishwife arms. They really are bad, people comment.

I'm 40, 5'3", size 10, 34d, brown messy bob, sallow skin and green/brown/gold eyes.

I need to dress it up with the accessories.
Can you help find jewelry, handbag and shoes, preferably wedges. Any make-up tips would be great too.

I have many, many pairs of slim Havaianas (and I love them) but they won't be festive enough for a wedding. They are strictly daywear and casual wear (although in some fashionable Brazilian weddings the guests are given flip flops customized with the bridal couple's initials for the dance floor at the reception afterwards as a party favor). I second Ballstoit's Fashion Union choice - many South American and Italian stylish women might wear flat, beaded or jewelled leather sandals with a maxi dress.

If you have to stand around a lot, it's much better to wear something flat, easy and comfortable. Make sure to break in the sandals though. All kinds of leather straps can and will cut into your tired and swollen feet - ouch. Patent leather is even worse.
