I have thin hair but lots of it and it is wavy and slicks out in all directions, making me look totally crap ungroomed. Pre kids it was lovely and smooth. It's not helped by the fact that i have patches around my hairline where new hair is growing in. I've been using John Freida shampoo and conditioner but feel it's rubbish. Any good recommendations? I'm happy to spend a bit if it gives me shiny smooth loveliness!

For ages i have used Kerastase products but due to some cut backs have been using Elvive Royal Jelly shampoo and conditioner and I really like it. So depending on your budget I would recommend both of those 2 brands.

I love Sabastian hair products , Personally I spend ££ on styling products that actually stay on the hair rather than shampoo that just gets washed out .
sebastian you can also get on amazon

You could also try the babyliss big hair, that'll give you a groomed swishy look.

VivaLeBeaver · 21/03/2011 09:58

I like Elvive, the orange anti-frizz one.

rubybambini · 21/03/2011 10:21

I've got fine / thin hair too, and if I leave it to dry naturally, I look like Harpo Marx.

I vary between Frederic Fekkai (for coloured hair) and Aussie products (usually the coloured hair / three minute miracle ones) for shampoo and conditioner.

I use ALOT of styling product to counteract the fine hair and frizz combo (I dread humid days!) - some combo of John Frieda Root Awakening Leave-in spray + Luxurious volume Blow Dry Lotion. Also use Aussie Dual Personality Anti-Frizz Conditioning Milk.

I have just started to use Bumble & Bumble and love it. It makes my fine hair look thicker. I bought it from recs on here in Selfridges. Although, I do have a bit of a habit of smelling my hair now Blush as it smells so nice.

Kerastase Nutritive should help with flyaway hair, makes mine very silky and smooth. Also their Elixire ultime

Emo76 · 21/03/2011 10:48

I use Pantene smooth and sleek. Sometimes just the conditioner. I find it works better than anything else for me (curly frizzy hair)

tulpe · 21/03/2011 12:21

Funnily enough I was just about to come on here and recommend a shampoo/conditioner :)

Like Apple99 I too am a fan of Kerastase but they are pricey. I have been using the Elvive Royal Jelly combo for a while and was pleased with the results.

HOwever, have just started using Elvive Full Resore 5 and am ecstatic. I have fine, flyaway brunette hair which usually looks dull unless given a full salon treatment. Full Restore 5 has left it glossy and thick. I even have that lovely shine halo on the crown of my head that you see on the hair of shampoo models :o I washed it yesterday and have used zero product on it. Usually that would mean waking up this morning with hair stuck in all directions and slapped to my head. Instead I have full on swishy hair.

MrsSeanBean · 21/03/2011 12:30

Wow, I'm off to get some Elvive Full Resore 5!

I use Aveda shampoo and conditioner - Damage Remedy. I also like Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner.

kerstina · 21/03/2011 12:34

Is that just using the shampoo you used or conditioner as well in the full restore? Oh no am going to have to buy this will have to stop reading S&BGrin

tulpe · 21/03/2011 12:37

kerstina - yes both shampoo and conditioner of the Full Restore. Have never had swishy hair in my entire life!!

clarkykitten · 21/03/2011 13:37

Thanks :) Think I will go down the Full Restore route too. The fact it is cheaper than other brands is a bonus as I'm currently feeling the pinch on unpaid mat leave.

Full restore is on offer in tesco. 400ml bottles buy one get one free.
Bought mine yesterday and used it this morning and my hair feels softer already Smile

sparkle1977 · 24/03/2011 13:14

I use Dove Heat Defence shampoo and conditioner. The ones with the red on the label for coloured hair I think. Love them and they smell nice too.

JaxTellersOldLady · 24/03/2011 13:17

I cant use any Elvive shampoo on my hair, my scalp breaks out in a rash.

I had a Brazilian blowdry which is a Keratin treatment on hair to stop frizz. It is amazingly good.

Have gone from using Wella SP Shampoo and conditioner to Weleda baby shampoo which is salt and sulphate free to keep the treatment on my hair for as long as possible.

NinjaChipmunk · 24/03/2011 13:20

I use dove and its the only one that keeps my hair soft. Plus ds likes to stick his face in it and tells me it smells nice!

wendihouse22 · 24/03/2011 14:04
