I have a very small budget as DH made redundant a few months ago, he now has another job and I to buy some much need additions to my wardrobe.

I need workwear, smartish and causal wear, think dog walking, round at friends houses and the occasional trip out.

So you wonderful stylish ladies Im in your hands :)

I think it depends on what you have already and can still wear - perhaps some different shoes or other accessories would update what you already have. Maybe change the buttons on a few things? If you're mad keen to buy some things, perhaps start with a new pair of jeans (I'm not good on the latest styles but other ladies here I am sure can help!) which you could dress up or down?

Def nice dark indigo jeans in whatever shape suits your figure. 2 nice stripey tops to wear with them casually (H&M are great for these and super cheap) and maybe a nice blouse type top (or 2!) to dress the jeans up a bit (I like Oasis or Warehouse for this kind of thing).

I'd also buy a nice smart jacket, I like 3/4 sleeves, which you could wear with the jeans to look smart or wear it to work with trousers or a skirt

Ive just bought a pair of nude leather kitten heels which look great with my jeans or with smarter trousers for work. They are my favourite new thing

If you are on a budget I would strongly suggest choosing a colour palette so everything you buy is mix and match. Ive bought a lot of nude/cream/black stuff lately and Im finding loads of different outfit combinations come easily

yes a good pair of dark jeans, River island have got some really nice skinnies which are reduced at the mo.

A jacket - cropped blazer is versatile and smart
scarves great way to accessorize

Agree with the others you need:

Pair of dark denim jeans (check out Next 'ultimate' jeans - they are good and come in a variety of cuts so you can choose which suits you best)
here

Breton top (agree H&M is good for cheapy, Kew has a nice one if you can stretch to it)
here

Pussy bow blouse (just got a fab cream one from Topshop - you could wear this with jeans for a night out or to work with a skirt)
this style
