OK I'll fess up.

I take my make up off with baby wipes and slap on some Simple moisturiser.

That's it Blush

So, now I am ancient getting a bit older I think I want a better beauty routine, but I don't want to spend a fortune.

So, what do I need - eyecream, moisturiser, serum whatever.

Do your worst!

something to take make up off - do you wash or not?
DEFFO AN EXFOLIATOR
have used ££ and cheap and of the ££ i like lancome and cheap that Swiss formula one

exfoliation si KEY to fighting ageing.

then a moisturiser

i find i need a seperate eyemake up remover but FOLK SAY that baby oil works

marks blue coloured eye make up remover is ALMOST as good ad lancome bifacil.

i like a nice gloopy night cream but it makes me spotty. have just bought a garnier/olay whatever midrange one - cant remember name

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 13:02

Clinique laser focus serum is v good.

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 13:03

Oh and Clarins cottonseed foaming cleanser (or some such name), and Clarins pink clay masque. Nothing wrong with the odd wet-wipeage though.

withagoat · 20/03/2011 13:04

tbh though if you arent arsed with it all you need to go simple
or youll just fail

I do wash - hot flannel before I put the moisturiser on.

I am very lazy.

A lot of days I only wear tinted moisturiser Blush

My Best Mate does the whole routine thing and I just can't be arsed.

brimfull · 20/03/2011 13:08

withagoat · 20/03/2011 13:09

cream blusher

do two antmusic type stripes on yer face
then rub in

missorinoco · 20/03/2011 13:09

"Only wear tinted moisturiser." That and mascara is as good as I get. Double Blush

I put my facial wash in the shower when I get in in the morning to ensure I use it. Works for me. Followed up by Simple moisturiser, so from the sound of it, putting it in the shower may work for you too!

brimfull · 20/03/2011 13:10

yes don't smile and put on apple of cheek
the 'apple' then drops when you stop smiling and you end up looking like panto character-very ageing

put blusher on actual cheekbone

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 13:10

Didn't Tesco do a 'Skin Wisdom' range which was designed by Bharti Vyas? (sp?)

I no longer use Tesco so don't know if it still exists. (This was about 5 years ago, but was good.)

MrsSeanBean · 20/03/2011 13:20

Looks like Bharti still involved with Tesco - see here. (Pure coincidence that the link is to wipes btw Wink

itisnotgoingwelltoday · 20/03/2011 13:31

Thank you ladies.

Got tesco b natural cream cleanser stuff last week in one the Tesco Home branches. Tis lush... Took me ages trawling round different branches to find it though...

I'm surprised there are not more recommendations for eye cream on here. I thought eye cream was essential to stop wrinkles & crinkly skin. Am I wastin my money?

I use Clinique foaming face wash in the shower (because I like the feel of it - not because I think it does anything more special than clean my face). I then use Olay toner as a gentle daily exfoliation, eye cream and moisturiser - tinted sometimes. The moisturiser is SPF 15 so helps protect against sun damage.

My choice of Olay is because I once heard a beautician tell my mum what lovely skin she has - she was 65 at the time - and she uses Olay. Also, it doesn't cost the earth.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 20/03/2011 13:48

Oops - 'wasting'

withagoat · 20/03/2011 13:50

i cant be arsed with eye cream

doutzen · 20/03/2011 14:13

I only use eye cream before I put on concealer under eyes
I use soap and glory hot cleanser, it detoxes and polishes and takes off any make up my make up remover hasn't taken off.
And you can leave it on for a few minutes for a mask

Actually, ignore what I've just said since I can't find the one I use on the boots website anyhow - what about these? Cleansing, toning and moisturising wipes. Bosh Wink

eloisah · 20/03/2011 14:21

Aveda cleansing gel, just wash your face with it and it removes all make up and rinses off with water.
I use Boots uplifting day cream in the morning and
Boots P&P serum and night cream before bed.
All seems to do the trick and is affordable, quick and easy.

cyb · 20/03/2011 20:07

Tesco better not have stopped the b natural range. I wont be happy
