Please recommend a mascara for my sensitive eyes

Mascara is my desert island beauty product, but I have decided that the one I have been using (Max Factor Masterpiece & False Lash Effect) is no good for me as it makes my eyelashes itch like hell, and I end up fiddling and picking the mascara off and taking half my lashes with it.

What I need is a recommendation for a good hypo-allergenic (or something) mascara, so I don't have to spend loads trying out different ones which don't make me itch.

CLinique?
they let you return it if you are allergic

OOh, if you have very sensitive eyes, I'd avoid ones with fibres in as they can flake off. This really means that max length/volumising ones are out.

TRy Clinique LASH POWER - goes on well, stays on ALL DAY and no flaky bits to irritate your eyes. To remove it, all you have to do is hold a warm flannel/muslin over your eyes for second or so and gently wipe. Ie no eyemakeup remover required!

im allergic to something in the mascara that elasticizes it
bloody dior show( my fave) i think inst helping

Clinic was awful for me Wink

N7 sensitive eyes (you will love the price too in comparison Grin) from boots.
I also found out that brown is less irritating than black and you can't really see a difference.

I couldn't wear mascara for years and had given up trying. Even clinique made my eyes itch. I was recommended MAC's Plush Lash by one of their sales assistants and it works for me! Apparently it doesn't contain rosewater which a lot do.

I bought No7 Sensitive Eyes yesterday and tried it out when I got home and for the first time ever didn't get the itchy eyes I normally endure when wearing mascara.

Even top brands irritate me so Clinique, et al are no guarantee tbh

Clinique made my eyes so sore....even though I used their Take the Day Off EMR.

The only one that allowed me to return to mascara was No7. I can use anything again now, and think my spate of reactions was just a phase I was going through due to medication I had to take long term. But the No7 one was the most gentle for me.

Lancome mascaras are quite good.

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 20/03/2011 18:48

Lancome is awful for sensitive skin and eyes! I am still running away from the sting they caused me, IME.

waitingforgodot · 20/03/2011 19:47

I have sensitive skin and find lancome the only mascara I can wear! Maybe allergic to something in the cheaper brands. I def cant do the ones that flake.

Clinque mascara is one of the freebee offers with Glamour mag this month. I have bought it to try for £2. I don't like the mag but the mascara seems great. I get really sore eyes at times.
