Hi,
I am an Isabella Oliver fan but need to find an alternative because they are expensive (although excellent quality) This is my first preg and I need a few tips on other good mat brands which I haven't yet discovered. I don't mean the names we all know but hopefully some great companies that might be under my radar.
I need smart casual (not office / meeting wear) ... any suggestions gratefully rcvd!

thank you,

How about Seraphine?

otchayaniye · 19/03/2011 17:20

Seraphine

Pea in the Pod (US)

Japanese Weekend (US)

Formes (some things a bit odd)

TopShop Maternity

ASOS maternity ok

otchayaniye · 19/03/2011 17:21

Oh, and Isabella Oliver is shit quality. I'd say Seraphine was better. But yes, some of the things are nice. I hate the way the viscose jersey bobbles in seconds.

IMO Isabella Oliver jersey stuff washes really well so worth looking on ebay.

I have 2 long sleeved T-shirts which I got from there and now wearing post pg. The jersey just springs back, no bagging or signs of stretching, pretty good considering they have now gone through two bumps.

ASOS stuff is cheap & different - but comes up short (I'm 5ft 9ins though). Topshop maternity seems to sell out v quickly online so if you see something you like order it straight away

If you register for the IO emails there is often flash sales.
Personally think that getting one or two of their basics like a T-shirt or vest would be worth it on a cost per wear basis. Even just one of the tank vests as you'd find you wear it all the time.

i second looking on Ebay. I sold 2 items after my 2nd pregnancy but i'd kept them for "best" so they were in brilliant condition.

Thanks, interesting sites to go browsing on! I just ordered a new top from IO in their flash sale and I'm very disappointed with the decline in quality. I agree... The jersey washed great and sprung back before, now it seems much thinner and I'm not convinced it'll wash so well. Think I'll be returning, and looking on ebay for older stuff!
Off to check out others...
